A-B spends a crap ton of money buying shelf space in the big retailer stores. They literally pay to keep the competition off the shelf.
Go into Publix, Kroger et al. You ever wonder why there is 15 feet of A-B and 2 feet of anything else? Anyone in the industry knows that A-B pays a premium for redundant shelf space in order to deny others that space.
Most, if not all, suppliers pay the stores to get shelf space. But A-B is the 600 pound gorilla in the beer section.
