I cannot recommend Rudyard Kipling’s poetry strongly enough. The amount of wisdom contained therein is enormous. Sacred Scripture stands above it, of course, but I can think of few other bodies of literature that are its equal.

Bicycles are supposed to ride on the street, the sidewalk is for pedestrians. How could she possibly have anticipated that a shoplifter just happened to be going down the sidewalk when she stopped in to visit her lifelong friend?

I’m fed up with thieves. I have been a victim of them many many times. I wouldn’t punish someone that is also fed up with them and takes matters into their own hands. The law does nothing against the thieves.
She probably did go a little crazy.
Wrecking your car to stop a guy from stealing $15 worth of items isn’t worth it, no matter how angry at the world you are.
