Bloody red carpet: Assad returns to international stage with Arab League welcome

Like 1984's Winston Smith, I remember that over 20 years ago the Neocon talking points for war with Iraq included:

* Saddam was paying the families of Palestinian suicide bombers in Israel. (True)

* Saddam had nukes and would destroy Israel if he wasn't taken out. (False)

Yet whenever someone like Pat Buchanan observed that these justifications were about fighting for the interests of Israel, he was called an anti-Semite. As if those talking points didn't exist. Very Orwellian.

When Ron Paul opposed the war, without even mentioning Israel, he was still called an anti-Semite. Since he never mentioned Israel, the accusation was a telling admission on the part of his accusers.

And today, now that the Neocons have lost credibility, we're told the Neocons are anti-Israel (I've actually seen people post this), and that "America First" means ... support Israel.

BTW Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic had his real issue with the US as the "big satan" and saw Israel as serving us the U.S. Iran does not care about any Arabs, it is in fact racist anti Arab (duch ad persecuting Ahwazi Arabs) but uses the "fakestinians" against Israel which it sees as an extention of the US.
