Agreed. The FBI is the swamp. Once that monster has been tamed, politicians will watch their step again.
FBI, and the entire DOJ are all from the same chord.
The FBI is just the beginning. There will be no meaningful prosecutions until the DOJ is brought under control.

Nothing is going to open to any of these people in a strictly legal sense, anyway.

The FBI, yes, but if the DOJ refuses to prosecute corrupt democRats then you’ve only solved half the problem.
Yes, need to replace the top two floors of the FBI at least. Here’s some off the cuff ideas:
Disband the Washington office. There can be a small office in DC but not the HQ. Move them to Kansas.
Take the FBI away from the Justice Dept. If you think about most cities and states the police are independent from the prosecutors. The police do their job, pass the information to the prosecutors and then the prosecutors make their own decisions about the case. Let the FBI focus on investigations they develop internally or by reports of crimes and pass their info on to the DOJ like every other law enforcement agency does. Make them independent.
Then, give the DOJ appointees a fixed term like the FBI director has, so they too so they too can be independent from the politics.
It is a good first step.
After seeing what’s going on in Arizona (amongst others), better starting cleaning house in the entire Judiciary system.
The FBI’s Counter-intelligence unit, which is responsible for Secret/Top-Secret clearance investigations and is the gatekeeper to all Federal employment. Particularly, FBI, Military, CIA, etc employment, and is where the leftists have created a department, within a department which decides who gets a job and who doesn’t by denial/approval of a background investigation. Only through control of this section, will control of the swamp be possible.
