The Washington Post reports that dissenting lawmakers are angry over a deal McCarthy struck with President Biden last week to raise the debt ceiling, claiming Republicans "got rolled" in the compromise.
The stalemate resulted in the House adjourning until next Monday and scrapping the remainder of the week's votes.
Lawmakers from both parties expressed frustration with the situation, the Post reported.
McCarthy blamed the conservative rebels for not specifying their demands. "There are a few members who aren't actually in the Freedom Caucus, and I'm not quite sure what they're concerned about," McCarthy said, according to Fox News.

The freedom caucus warned McCarthy not to turn to the left. He did it anyway and tried to strong-arm the conservatives into abandoning their principles. McCarthy’s attempt to bribe and twist Clyde (R-GA) on the pistol-brace issue was a betrayal of his promises to conservatives.
He thought he could just run over the Freedom Caucus and they would fall in line. He chose poorly.
I don’t believe them, not the conservatives, not mccarthy, not any of them. The conservatives don’t even have a majority of the Republicans. What exactly did they expect???
The Freedom Caucus got exposed as a bunch of feckless frauds once Rep. Thomas Massie signed onto this deal. This is the dope who’d sanctimoniously stand on “principle” and preach “fiscal responsibility” throughout his career in Congress while ending up on the losing side of 420-5 votes for spending bills.
Yes, if this was a true rebellion, they would make the motion to vacate the chair.
I thought part of the deal which made McCarthy speaker, was that just 1 Republican, could make a motion to vacate the speaker’s chair.
And then, the motion will be voted on.
Yes, there’s lots of complaining and anger behind the scenes at the debt ceiling deal, but, will any Republican take action; just how angry are they, at McCarthy? Angry enough to want to vacate the chair?
Or is this talk just the usual bluff and bluster we often hear from politicians????

I’ll say it again our country is crooked! This nation is burned to a crisp. 2 million invaders in the span of two years is a whole lot of nastiness coming to our soil. What happen in France today will happen here in the US. Can’t remember the commentator who said …my biggest fear is that Terrorists who evaded capture at the border will do another 9/11 in a bigger scale. Our government doesn’t give a shit all they care about is hunting down Trump and putting him behind bars. They don’t care the Chinese are building a base to spy on our military communications. They don’t care and you know what? I’ve gotten to the point that I don’t even care anymore. This nation does not have a fix. Americans have been neutered not to raise a stink over the government or your ass will end up in jail for years and years. Just ask any J6 prisoners who were unjustly arrested and without any representation thrown in prison for years! They have placed the fear of government in people’s hearts and a boot on our necks!
Let me Clarify, our government doesn’t give a shit about China building a surveillance base in Cuba to intercept our military communications. They’re too freaking busy hunting down grandparents, elderly, parents, Americans, your ordinary citizens. We’ve lost this country to a communist regime called our government known as the DC swamp. I do agree that these attacks are somewhat misplaced. A debt ceiling bill isn’t really the best place to make a stand for fiscal responsibility. It’s sort of like worrying about how you’re going to pay for a $30,000 home improvement project after you’ve already retained the contractor and purchased the materials.
Let’s all call our rep’s offices and encourage them to smack down McCarthy’s ass with a motion to vacate-I already did...
