My wife and I saw ‘Goldeneye’ at a theater in Stowe, VT, and we were served drinks at the beginning of the movie. We were flabbergasted when notified of the option. This was 1995, I believe. (No...we did NOT have martinis.)

Movie theaters do not have reserved seating like baseball or football stadiums do.

Mine do. They have recliner seats, and even wait staff to bring you food and drink.

And all the frantic opposition is making at least some liberals look for more real information even if they don’t go see the flick. Say, what’s this all about? Haven’t heard that before!

I’m wondering more if the left is applying for and getting the pay it forward seats, and just letting them rot. That being said, my showing was 2/3 full and my brother just got to it last night and said it was packed. Someone here’s said, and I agree, it’s likely local agitators that are causing the problems that have been documented.

Disney at least sold the rights back to the originators. But Disney is hemorrhaging money. And it walked away from the biggest sleeper hit of the year. Bob Iger should be asked about this in every interview.

The fact that Disney shelved it opened the door for a brilliant counterculture marketing strategy. The people behind this film have played their cards perfectly. The left is totally off balance and flailing.

A hundred million is a significant amount of money to start a serious film-making group. Something will replace the ailing, China-beholden, LGBTQect overrun, America hating Hollywood.

This is that something advancing.

“’Sound Of Freedom’ Shatters Expectations, Hits $100 Million Milestone At Box Office”

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/sound-freedom-shatters-expectations-hits-100-million-milestone-box-office

“Despite the mounting hit pieces from Bloomberg, Rolling Stone, and other corporate media outlets about Jim Caviezel’s anti-child-trafficking film “Sound of Freedom,” Americans are still flocking to movie theaters nationwide as it appears the film has become one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters so far.

The low-budgeted, faith-inspired film is based on the life of Tim Ballard, the founder of Operation Underground Railroad – an organization committed to rescuing children from sex trafficking – achieved a significant milestone on Wednesday, taking in more than $100 million from US theaters since its July 4 debut.

Last weekend, Sound of Freedom finished second place behind Paramount Pictures’ new Mission: Impossible while outpacing Disney’s latest Indiana Jones.”

* * *

“’Sound of Freedom’ has become the people’s movie,” said Jared Geesey, SVP of global distribution at Angel Studios. “

It made $100,000,000 despite showing only once a day, on one screen, in ONE THEATER by me. There are at least 4 different theaters within 20 minutes of my house and 60+ screens, and it's only showing on ONE screen in ONE theater? WTF...

BTW: Tickets on that ONE SCREEN in ONE THEATER are sold out through next Wednesday.

Makes sense. Glad you were able to see a movie that held our values and concerns.

Almost all movies are made for and by progressives - progressives who hate Traditional Americans. Nice to see rather than waiting for the thugs and goons on the left to make a few movies for us that we’re starting to make our own.

Democrats can drink Bud Light too. We’re walking away.

Glad to see we've given up on left-wing thugs making movies for us - AND we're finally making our own. From what you're saying they're willing to give up profit to hurt us. Movie theater companies should be sued by their shareholders.

Good movies are still being made, just not as many as we would like. Even the Borg manages to churn out a few here and there. Foreign films are gaining traction in the U.S., and some of them are good. I've become partial to small indie films; it's hard for the DEI commissars to blitz a writer-director team of one, and the grifters tend to lay off the lower budget films with small casts. The bigger the movie and the bigger the studio, the bigger the target for the shakedown artists, and shakedowns are a big part of what is driving the madness. Corporate America generally has shown itself to be led by gutless cowards who don't have the backbone to stand up to a twitter mob. The movie industry tends to be as culturally liberal as the universities, which means it is a soft target to begin with.

It has become a convention on FR to use "Hollywood" as a generic term for "anything in the film industry that I dislike." If that's the definition, of course most freepers want to nuke "Hollywood." But there are a lot of players other than the big corporate giants. Let Disney, et. al. crash and burn. The saving remnant should be supported.

If it made the money, it made the money. People say all kinds of crap. So what?

Why does this movie bother some people so much? It is a true story about a world wide problem. The movie is well done and it proves people want to go see something other than the usual Hollywood sequel type movies.

The movie is not political in the sense of left and right. It shows the horror of child abuse sexual and virtual slavery. I can not understand why anyone can criticize this movie unless they are in favor of child sexual abuse and child slavery.

The far left are very sick people. Their criticism of the movie is in effect endorsing this horrible deed against children. They are part of the problem.

Amazing how quickly this review and so many others immediately devolve into a discussion of stuff the lead actor has said outside the context of the movie. Is that all they've got? How many of them have said, "Yeah, Tom Cruise is a Scientologist so don't go see Top Gun"? Anyone?

They want to evade talking about the subject of the movie. That's actually a little strange, isn't it?
