...It’s a complicated question, one that touches on the film’s unorthodox funding methods, its faith-based marketing, and its blend of traditional filmmaking with messaging that relentlessly tells its fans that the mere act of paying to see it is a virtuous and valorous act....
. . Variety’s Owen Gleiberman described it as a “solid thriller,” emphasizing that the film’s base appeal works even without the huge amounts of baggage that have been attached to it by its supporters and star... .
. AMC was fielding a variety of rumors, including accusations of canceling showings, sabotaging sound systems, and even screwing with the A/C in its theaters, in order to make viewing the movie an uncomfortable experience, as part of a narrative that someone was trying to “stop” people from seeing the film.

I don’t really think that would work. The movie theater isn’t going to want to add hassle to themselves. And what needy person who can’t afford a movie is going to go to the theater hoping somebody put free tickets up for grabs? Probably a church or social group would be the best way, print them out drop them off.
Considering how much a movie theater has to pay for the films they show, there is no way in hell they are going to deliberately create an uncomfortable environment in order to keep people from coming to view the movie.

Maybe,,, unless they caught the bud light flu.
Personaly I think it’s rouge SJW employees most likely.
But I could be wrong.

OK, I'm sorry, I stand corrected.....
I can't imagine a "dining experience" at a movie theater.....LOL!
And a bar???
Some people are obviously, shall we say, “uncomfortable” re the success of the movie. How the hell can a movie make so much money being so counter The Narrative?
Who takes the front row?’ These bizarre seating charts at ‘Sound of Freedom’ screenings lend credence to claims fake ticket sales are boosting numbers
Wouldn’t the link be more accurate as

?
If I were going to buy seats just to boost ticket sales and had no intention of showing up or trying to give the seats away, I’d buy them in the front row to leave decent seats available for purchase to people who show up 20 minutes before the movie starts and need to buy tickets at the door.
Two times in the past week my aunt and her friends did just that—went to the theatre to see the movie without prepurchasing—to find the only seats left were in the front two rows. They decided to see a different movie because they didn’t want to sit too close.
There is somewhere a video montage of reports of theater sabotage all over. Some snippets are blips taken inside the theaters with lights going on and off and Theater employees standing in the aisle announcing that unfortunately the A/C is on the fritz and being challenged by viewers about whether the other theaters in the plex are affected..
And a bar. Honestly to me that’s the best part of this change. Not that long ago the only theater in town that had beer was the art house. Then Roadhouse showed up. Now everybody has beer.
The dine-in thing is cool. You get the whole “dinner and a movie” without the logistical problems. How long before the movie do you go to the restaurant? What if they’re fast and you’ve got an hour to kill? What if they’re slow and you miss the beginning? And at Roadhouse they have a dining area too, and you can tag the bill to your seat. So you can eat not in the theater, get a beer during the movie, and it’s all one bill.
Best thing to happen to movies.
Interesting
You can now buy wine and beer at the bar next to the snack bar and take it into the theatre.
And it’s decent wine and beer and not as overpriced as at some other types of venues and events, such as amusement parks.
I don’t doubt that some fascist theatre managers and workers aren’t playing games with the A/C out of spite. I don’t think larger forces are behind this, though.
I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts that memoes are going out to managers to warn them about playing games with the lights and thermostat.
I don’t think the bigwigs really want a Project Veritas type moment.
How did it make $100 million? The obvious answer, not enough bomb threats against the theaters showing it!

Theaters do have zonal heat/AC for each screening room. It would be a serious waste of money to heat or cool rooms not in use.
Are they at inflated costs like at a ball park?
To be honest, I think the last time I was in a movie theater was when the first Star Wars came out....
Every thing since was from Blockbuster then library DVD's
I guess I need to get out of the house more often......thanks
Exactly. My husband and I don’t go to the movies any longer but we made it a point to go see this one.
Nowhere near ballpark level. Really pretty inline with bar/ restaurant prices. 8 and a half bucks for a beer, all localish breweries, all on tap.
