The US citizenship test is being updated after more than 1 million people became Americans citizens last year - one of the highest numbers on record since 1907.
The naturalisation test is one of the final steps toward American citizenship - a months-long process that requires legal permanent residency for years before applying.
The US currently has the easiest citizenship test compared to other Western countries, including Germany, Canada and the UK, political science experts allege.
Applicants must answer six out of 10 civics questions - selected from a bank of 100 questions - correctly to pass. Applicants are not told which questions will be selected but can see and study the 100 questions before taking the test.
Authorities said last December that the test, which was last updated in 2008, was due for revision after 15 years. The new version is expected in late 2024.
The test was previously changed by Donald Trump's administration in 2020, making it longer and more difficult to pass, but after taking office Joe Biden signed an executive order aimed at eliminating barriers to citizenship which changed the test back to its previous version.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (UCIS) has proposed that the new citizenship test adds a speaking section to assess English skills.
An officer would show photos of ordinary scenarios - like daily activities, weather or food - and ask the applicant to verbally describe the photos.
In the current test, an officer evaluates speaking ability during the naturalisation interview by asking personal questions the applicant has already answered in the naturalisation paperwork.
Another proposed change would make the civics section on US history and government multiple-choice instead of the current oral short-answer format. ***

The three branches of government are earth, wind, and fire. Or rock, paper, scissors. Or Snap, crackle, pop. Or See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Dumbed down college admissions.
Dumbed down workforce.
Dumbed down America.
Welcome to Biden Country: "Would you like fries with that?"
How do you spell USA?
I think a Benjamin allows me to pass these days.
Here’s a question from the Biden-improved citizenship exam.
If you want free money, free food, and free housing, which party should you vote for?
A. The Democrat Party.
B. Don’t be stupid. Pick choice A.
1. Do you have a job and will you promise to become a burden on the American Taxpayer? No, Yes.
2. Do you promise to vote FOR any Democrat on a ballot? Yes
3. Will you work to help America become a socialist crap hole like the one you’re coming from? Yes
PASS....
LOL
When I was tested to become an American citizen, it was 20 oral questions and answers...
Just me and the man asking the questions ...
No list of possible questions supplied beforehand ...
We either knew the answer or we didnt...
I learnt and studied for months but to my shame I got one wrong ...
I thought I was banned from citizenship and wanted to cry ...
Luckily the man had pity on me ...
The question was How many justices on the Supreme Court ???
It was one of the last questions and I was tired and stressed by then ...
I said 12 ...
These people dont learn anything about America they just study the list of possible questions and answers ...
Then they have a multiple-choice test ...
The link is regular Daily Mail clickbait.
“I pledge allegiance to the Democrat party, and to corruption and globalism, for which it stands, one bribefest and justice for all except Republicans and conservatives”.
The great replacement of white people goes on, unabated.
The Citizenship Exam has been a farce for at least 20 years.
From memory...
There are five possible tests with 50 questions per test.
They provide you with all five tests plus all correct answers BEFORE you take one of the five tests.
If you read and write English, and if you study the sample tests for a couple hours, it is impossible to fail.
I used to teach a “one night a week for 3 months” class designed to prep for the citizenship test. I loved it. I was able to create my own curriculum. Combination of US history and government. Designed to make conservatives out of them. Class was always full of good people doing it the right way who had no tolerance for the cheaters.
::thumbs ups::
In hunters test the answers would be:
1) cash bribes.
2) crack whoes.
3) gimme back the cocaine I left at daddy’s house.
The extra credit question he would ask would be: how much more cocaine can I get today with this credit ?
5 million didn’t bother with the test and came anyway.
I am here. I pass, just like the illegal aliens. Now give me money.
Never underestimate a liberal’s ability to be stupid.
When did freaking Diwali become a British topic equal in importance to Shakespeare?
