The right-wing Popular Party (PP) is projected to be ahead after a general election in Spain - but it is likely to need the support of the far-right to govern.

I notice the sources doesn't use such language ("left-wing" and "far-left") to refer to the counterpart parties of the left.
If the exit polls ring true, Peoples + Vox will have enough votes to form a governing coalition. Let's, first of all, see the actual vote; and, then, if negotiations are successful.
As noted by the source, this marks the fourth European country to move to the right in recent elections; following Italy, Sweden and Finland. Others are likely to follow.
Why are they moving to the right? What is their #1 issue?

Not Biden, but the EU. The EU constantly harasses Poland and Hungary for not going along with the EU’s dangerous fantasies. If Spain joins that list, they should consider it a badge of honor.
My guess the flood of 3rd world migrants is a big issue.
With 85% of vote counted it’s still head to head with the right slightly ahead.

Spain is kind of the opposite of the U.S. The late-reporting vote tend to favor the right-of-center parties. We’ll see if the right-of-center parties can get to a majority with the completion of the counting of the actual vote.

Then came the found ballots.
One difference between the Spanish conservatives and American conservatives is that the former supports strong central government. For centuries, separatist movements in the Basque country and in Catalonia were suppressed by both the monarchy and the Franco regime. It has been the Spanish socialist and communist parties that have supported independence for these provinces. In contrast, American conservative strongly support states rights and a weak federal government.
Europe is gone. This is a temporary correction but there is no goi g back.
With over 95% of vote in, there’s no clear winner.
It will come down to which side can assemble a coalition from the minor parties.
The popular Party is winning with 136 votes and they appear to be the most pro-NATO/antiRussian expansion, more so than the liberal party they are replacing.

From the nyt looks like the Left has enough outliers to form a majority. I hope someone with a better grasp can correct me.
