Buoy in Florida Keys measures 101.1-degree water temperature
nbc-2.com ^ | 07/25/2023 | Meteorologist Rob Duns

The Manatee Bay buoy in the Florida Keys recorded a sea surface temperature of 101.1 degrees at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 24.

The buoy, located in the Upper Keys northwest of Key Largo managed by Everglades National Park, recorded the temperature at a depth of 4.9 feet. Pending no anomalies with the data, the recording would set a new world sea surface temperature, breaking the current record of 99.7 degrees. That temperature was recorded in Kuwait Bay of the Persian Gulf.

“Cat 5 hurricanes, here we come!”

Exactly - where are they? At that temperature they should be non-stop.

...unless that’s not the REAL temperature.

When was it last calibrated?
Is it correct?
Is it in a location that’s proper for accuracy?
What do the closest buoy temperatures read?

My guess is the way the sensor is mounted. Probably sunlight is heating metal and the sensor is mounted somewhere on that metal.

There have been two giant jumps in temperature data, both based on how the data is taken. About thirty years ago the recorded temperature started to rise. Turns out a government project was putting in additional sensors...located at airports on federal land. Not a lot of trees at airports. They were put in metal boxes located on concrete or asphalt. The other is more recent when they switched from air temperature to ground temperature. Garbage in, gargage out.

Summer Hot - man made climate change
Winter Cold - man made climate change

People it is all a lie.

There is nothing that man can do (that nature does not already do) to affect the earth’s climate. Nuclear winter? already happened in the early 1800 when a volcano erupted and put enough ash in the air that block the sun and cooled the earth (the year without a summer). Guess what, everything returned to normal when the ash finally settled down.

They are using “man made climate change” to do thing that they would not be allowed to do otherwise.

Having been vacationing in Florida during the summer (visiting relatives) I have swam in the Gulf off the coast of New Port Richey, and in summertime the water is so hot you have to get out to cool off.

Notice how the story implies that since man has never recorded such a high temperature before, that this an anomaly.

And my car’s temperature sensor indicated the temperature was 128 degrees in the Kroger parking lot a couple days ago. However, it wasn’t really 128 degrees. It was more like 96.

I do not trust any of the information regarding climate when it is given by those that benefit from the climate “crisis” cult. They lie and distort information to reach a conclusion usually designed to either restrict the freedoms of the people or to put more money into their research and pockets (or both).

It’s late July. Earlier this year I was told there would be an above average number of hurricanes this summer and they would be of greater intensity. That hasn’t happened so now they are adjusting their predictions to more hurricanes this fall. We shall see.

Someone needs to explain how the temperature of the water 5 feet down is hotter than the air above it. I live in Florida, and I have a pool, and I am sorry, but thermodynamics just don’t work like that. Water is a heat sink. Average the daily temperature highs and lows, and you will be close to the water temperature, but that also depends on the volume of water involved. We have NOT been averaging 100 degrees here in Florida, in fact, I don’t think we even hit 100, and if we did, it was just briefly. Overnight lows are still in the mid 70s in most of the state. Either the thermometer is busted, or a new volcano is coming up in Florida.

Current reading for that buoy is 89.8. So over a 10 degree drop in a day? Highly unlikley.

Probably not a bad idea to actually see such a buoy, and how close to the shore this "measurement" is. I looked in the hysterical news to find out how long that temperature remained at that level, and -- oddly -- it isn't in the news.

I think you're right. When Mount St. Helens erupted it was the end of life as we know it. When Deepwater Horizon failed, all life in the Gulf of Messyco was supposed to end.

Yet, here we all are. The End is inevitable, but it's not going to happen anyway near the way most people think.

2 Peter 3:9-13: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
