Build it high, build it strong. The solution to the Pope’s gnashing of teeth of over poverty and criminality in Central and South America is for the people to rise up as revolutionaries and take over their countries just as Americans did in the late 18th century.

He has no true knowledge of the border plight and no understanding of the damage unchecked migration has on America. We cannot accept an entire hemisphere of unknown people without losing that which made us a magnet for economic hope.

He’s being hypocritical. I grew up in a border city. I’ve seen El Norte. I have traveled the interior of Mexico and volunteered in Mexico. I have also lived in America within walking distance of the “rape trees” Trump spoke about. He’s the first president over a generation to truly recognize the high cost of unchecked immigration.

I know not everyone is coming to make a better life. There are repeat criminal invaders, human traffickers for sex and labor, drug runners. I know about the tunnels and the tricks of sewing people and merchandise into car seats. With all due respect, he’s ignorant of and delusional about the imported evil we have got to get under control.

Twenty years ago on FR I recall suggested invading Mexico rather than Iraq wondering if we would be better off if given a choice.

The well-intentioned Catholics in the RCC often have little respect for the Jesuits. Perhaps the good Catholics need to rethink the Counter Reformation policy of letting the Jesuits be in charge of clergy training.

If the Left (and that includes the Pope) has their way, the border would have welcome mats and free money for anyone who reached the border. We should pay the Cartels and Mexico to run the border—they do in truth. Goal, make America a place of two Billion People! Lots could get really rich over that.
