Is our honeymoon with the electric vehicle finally over? A study found that one in five early adopters of EV cars and trucks are returning to gas-powered vehicles. As a result, used EV prices are freefalling.

The Journal Nature published a study revealing that of the folks who were early adopters of EVs in California (between 2012 and 2018), 20% of PHEV drivers have returned to fully gas-powered vehicles and 18% of full EV drivers returned to gas-powered–with their subsequent vehicle purchase.

I purchased an ebike for my wife, and I 3D printed a lockable battery box to carry two spares, one for each of us.

Great idea! (But now it's an 80-pound bike... 😂 - yeah, they can be heavy, but at least you have the option to pedal back or someplace safe.)

LOL, the batteries do add weight, but...turns out that with 2 batteries, the bike can do 40-50 miles with a human onboard, and that is about the limit of what my wife can take! I have gone about sixty miles on my own with three batteries.

These are not top end bikes, they were entry level bikes that had good features for the price point (under $1000 each). We both enjoy them on bike trails, but neither of us will drive them on roads if it can be avoided.

THAT was a Striped Sea Bass! Boy, I wish I could have kept that one I was holding, those would have given me some huge, thick, filets!
