There was an era when Hollywood celebrities and film creators were treated as a kind of modern royalty, a representation of the heights to which the average person could strive and “make it big.” The glitz and the glamour were viewed as the culmination of the American dream. But as with all fantasies, the story must end and reality must return. Was the movie business always a farce? Yes. However, it was a farce that the public held up even in the worst of times as something of value; something more that frivolity.
In the spans of around 7 years Hollywood has lost every ounce of social capital they had gained in the past century. That takes an epic level of ignorance and arrogance. It takes criminal levels of malicious intent and an unprecedented display of stupidity. The populace was willing to put up with almost any level of degeneracy from Tinsel Town as long as they could make compelling movies, and yet, they couldn’t even do that.

It has become one large cesspool
It's not possible to make a true Bond film today. They should try again in a couple of decades, if they allow Bond to be himself again. Maybe that's not possible. Bond was a product of his time, therefore he does not exist anymore?
we don’t really have any choice in internet....cable internet is fast and reliable..
God is exposing it all. More and more we are faced with making a DECISION in life; who will you stand with? Who will you worship? People see the wicked and they either reject/walk from it or align with it. The valley of decision.
That's why I haven't seen The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. I heard that it's bad.
You think it'll be good because they are spending a lot of money on it. But nope. It's crap.
we went to see the Equalizer, the new Top Gun and hope to see the new Mission Impossible soon....but other than these three, we’ve been to the movies rarely for the last 10 yrs....the Passion of the Christ, the Patriot, and the one about the marksman in Afghanistan....also of course, Sound of Freedom..
I made my decision over 40 years ago when I was saved in the name of the Christ.
we find ourselves watching less and less tv period....tv is not on during the day and sometimes we don’t turn it on til 8pm or so....if its just my dtr and I, it might not get turned on at all...
because republican or democrat, they prettymuch all loved America
and a goodly portion of them served in one way or another
look at who lives there today...
The fact that Bond would outrage feminazis....while secretly making them moist....IS his appeal. Hell yes he's a sexist. He's a chauvinist. He's a smooth, suave bad boy. He's what ever woman wants - whether she's willing to admit that publicly or not. We all know it. Its why every man wants to be him.
That part will never change. We can't make mainstream movies about somebody like James Bond right now. We would be sending the "wrong message".
Industry solidarity only goes one way with them.

Bingo. The beginning of the end. Very nice work by Mr. Gervais.
Epic Theaters of Ocala is the only decent place near me and they never show anything interesting on the XL screens. I can’t believe they didn’t show Mission Impossible on at least one of them... Sad.
Worse. If they get their demands, it’ll mean less of them. Being a union job, the newest of the employees will be let go first. They want you to think they’re fighting for everyone but the truth is only will be rewarded.
I keep HBO now to watch Bill Maher ... the rest of it is Hollywood/ Sexual Weirdo/commie crap. But you don't find any of that on Bill Maher?...Got it.
If there are suckers willing to pay for it, why not?
“There’s a lot of old shows you can watch for free through streaming. You can just download an app on your firestick and you can watch I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver!”
Thanks, That is basically what we do. Re runs of “Murder she Wrote”, must have lasted a month.
We stream Brit Box, PBS and other long time sites often for a monthly $5 donation.
So to watch what is just released and new, the little that is still somewhat good to excellent material and what you would like without subsidizing the remaining, utter crap Hollywood spews out via the myriad of subscription streaming services (other people can cover that and if it all ends anyway, so what?):
A VPN like SurfShark for $2/month to prevent strongly-worded, nagging DMCA violation emails when they pick up on your IP address (using IPv6 only also takes care of this but limits the sources)
A bitorrent client like Deluge

You’re all set.
amen and amen! And THAT is the ultimate decision. The only one actually.
