Former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), a Republican presidential candidate, said Wednesday on Fox Business Channel’s “Varney & Co.” that if Congress shut down the government, it would be an “embarrassment.”
Haley said, “It’s not difficult to cut spending, you have to want to do it. Congress has been lazy for a long time. Biden has sent us down the socialism creek, but our Republicans have done this to us too. They need to get in a room, they need to figure it out.”
She added, “Taxpayers don’t want to hear about whether you’re going to shut down government or not shut down government. They want to hear you’re going to get in a room and fix it.”

It’s not difficult if you are in the majority. Which I think she alludes too when she says it’s not just the Democrats responsible for this. Republicans have had the majority several times and did absolutely nothing to cut spending, even when they had the majority in both houses and the Presidency.
I hate to admit Nikki may have a point, but Nikki has a point. Republicans have no “moral high ground” on spending, and they only pull the “government shut down” card when they are in the minority and want to convince their constituents that they actually care about spending, when in reality, 90+% of Republican politicians do not seem to care about it at all.
This is why she has no business in government, much less running for President. A ‘shutdown’ of the government funded nonsense in DC is EXACTLY what this country and real Americans need.
Congress has been LAZY for over 20+ years. SO WHAT???
