Senators John Barrasso (R., Wyo.), Rick Scott (R., Fla.), Steve Daines (R., Mont.), Cynthia Lummis (R., Wyo.), Eric Schmitt (R., Mo.), and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R., Miss.) joined Kansas’s Marshall in urging the “immediate withdrawal” of the DOJ’s rule, which would amend current Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations.
“This latest action by the Biden administration is yet another step in their campaign to attack law-abiding gun owners,” the group of U.S. senators wrote to U.S. attorney general Merrick Garland, who signed ATF’s notice of the proposed rule on August 30.
Marshall and his colleagues further warn the rule will “circumvent the U.S. Congress” by working around passed and signed gun-control legislation with “administrative action,” according to the letter.

Did they demand or politely ask?
The US Supreme Court must really get tired of this criminal behavior by the Biden Regime. No matter how many times they lose in Court, the Biden Clown show simply tries again
We will not comply.
Why not excerpt and post the proposed firearms regulation(s) instead of prompting hits to msn?
Thank you
I’m not going to that link without a bit more info
Does anyone have the text of the proposed rule?
I guess I’ll go goooogling ... be back soon ... I hope..
Just defund the ATF entirely and be done with it.

There is no reason on earth that would cause me to ever click a msn link. (cue horses neighing in back ground)
Could it be this?
The proposed rule would amend the ATF regulations to clarify that firearm dealing that requires a license and conduct conducting a background check does not solely occur in brick-and-mortar stores,” a senior DOJ official said. “It also encompasses dealing at gun shows flea markets mail order and over the internet
If they don’t withdraw it, we the people need to slam their asses with a violation of the Bill of Rights. That’s worse than the JVI fiasco that the libs and their FBI got all whinyass and threw a tantrum over.

This NPRM proposes to implement the “engaged in the business” provisions of the BSCA [26]

It’s along read and a lot of gobeldy gook...
But they want you to have a ffl to sell a gun . period
Sounds like a plan .... a bad plan
Shall not be infringed. I guess Dem’s didn’t pass reading comprehension.
“GOP Senators Demand ...”
Wimp GOPe scum.
Typical leftist/commie/socialist/fascist/Marxist/anarchist techniques; are you surprised?
Thanks, same information & link I read on the M14 forum a few days ago.
Hey, how about shutting down government and getting together with the five real Republicans in the House and defund the ATF - completely, as in every eff’n scumbag in the ATF is fired.
So a RULE is actually a law? Wonder where in the US Constitution or Code of Federal Regulations that is located. Anyone know, off hand.
As for the RULE....any person who sells a gun for profit to anyone else, including family members, would be considered “engaged in the business” of dealing in firearms. As a result, a person would be required under federal law to obtain a federal permit, conduct a background check, and complete gun registration paperwork.
How do they or would they know something is sold at a profit?
The only way they would know anything like this is if they either have all the information they’re not supposed to have or, at some point, if the gun is used in a crime and the ATF does a trace to start tracking down possession.
If it’s the latter than all the original owner has to do is say he sold it for what he paid for it. No profit.
Next question...I don’t remember. I can’t recall.(at this point what difference does it make).
Our records indicate that you purchased the weapon 10 years ago for $500....That’s what I sold it for.
These idiots seem to think that gun buyers spend their waking hours, in back alleys, swapping guns back and forth to each other. Most gun guys buy something and hold on to it forever, even if they don’t shoot it.
These are some really sad and dumb people working for our government.
....as I understand it, these proposed regulations would essentially put “private sellers” at gun shows out of business...the only way you could legally purchase a firearm at a gun show would be through the whole FFL/Form 4473 process...this is a slap in the face to all honest private sellers at gun shows...I have gotten a number of really good, reliable handguns and rifles from private sellers at guns shows over the past 10 - 15 years...never had an issue...this sux...!!
