Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed three new gun control bills Tuesday, one of which expands areas where concealed carry for self-defense is banned.
State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-Glendale) sponsored the expanded ban contained in SB2. He spoke prior to the signing, saying, “Do you need a gun to go to your daughter’s…soccer game? I would say you need a water bottle and orange slices.”
He said, “When you go to the mall, do you need a weapon to go shopping, or do you need a credit card? You need a credit card.”

you need a gun everywhere you go because stupid ass lawmakers have made it so only criminals carry guns. A armed society is a polite society. Thats why there is very little crime in Idaho, and a whole lot in demoncrat run states.
Exactly. Are they going to wind up checking every person that comes into the mall now? I mean, malls are pretty desolate and outdated. That’s all they need is for people NOT to go to the malls anymore because they don’t want the hassle of being “inspected” every time they go.

The irony is this will more quickly lead to courts, or even SCOTUS itself, stroking down ALL California gun laws as well as gun laws in the other states

We also need to remember that several mall shootings have been stopped by citizens with firearms. The Press and the ComDems always leave that fact out.

Oh, how I hope this moron imposes this bill on his security detail.
Then they will use the outrage as yet another reason that “something has to be done about the Supreme Court” in their campaign to prime the public to accept the “reasonable changes to the SC” when they get the power to actually do it.

Most malls were doomed prior to the Amazon landslide. The malls allowing groups of younger inner city youth to start gathering then basically stealing and rampaging through their facilities started the decline.
Every mall that ended up with public transportation having routes from cities to their doors started their death spiral.
It might stand. The SCOTUS ruling on NYC carry said that states have to stipulate no concealed carry locations. The bigger picture in CA is that no one is safe anywhere, especially in malls.
The same argument can be made for AEDs, first aid kits and fire extinguishers. If you don’t know you’re going to need them, why bother? That’s sound reasoning.
If there’s a shooting at the mall or the soccer game, then you should go home and get your weapon. Just don’t conceal the thing.
Carl’s Jr. Corp offices moved some years ago out of Carpenteria to Tennessee because it was taking them over 2 1/2 YEARS to get a permit for another location.
IIRC—Carl’s has 3 basic layouts for their operations. Tnis one was NOT new & different.
Land was leased or bought-—and 2 1/2 YEARS later-—NOT a shovel of dirt had been permitted.
They packed up & bailed OUT OF CALIF with no warning
I did the same-—OUT of SO CALIF in 1993.
