Climate researcher Dr. Gianluca Grimalda says that he risks losing his post at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany for refusing to use a plane as a means of transport back from Papua New Guinea.
Grimalda plans to return to Germany from his research trip without flying in order to reduce his carbon emissions by 90%, and instead intends to travel using ferries, coaches, trains and cargo ships.
However, he said the institute gave him three days notice to return by October 2 which would have forced him to fly, according to a statement issued by climate group Scientist Rebellion.
Grimalda told CNN that the Kiel Institute told him to “expect a second warning/request to show up in Kiel traveling by plane,” after he failed to return and that they “will then issue the letter of redundancy” when he fails to show up a second time.

Well if he was true to the cause he would walk, he would still be producing carbon emissions.
Last I heard ferries trains and cargo ships will use some form of carbon. Coaches if he means buses ditto. Stage Coach maybe not so much.

The plane is flying with, or without, the poseur. This is just an ego driven infantile useless gesture to virtue signal to their cronies how committed to the cult they are.
It holds up business operations. because it sure ain’t about the climate.
Back when they reduced the speed limit to 55 to save gas, I turned on the TV to see a major race. I calculated those cars would burn, in one race, more gas than I’d use in a year. Everything needs to be in perspective. If the US reduced its carbon emissions to zero, it wouldn’t affect the rise that China alone will increase its emissions by. They’re building coal plants like mad, and their coal is full of contaminants. Nothing the US does will move the needle enough to compensate for China. The guy is too political to employ. Good riddance. He’s also idiot enough to qualify as a university professor. (A friend used to say, that’s so stupid only a college professor would believe it.)

It took Grimalda 35 days to reach Papua New Guinea from Germany earlier this year, as he traveled 15,000 kilometers (9,321 miles) overland to Singapore before taking a flight for the second leg of the trip."
When he breathes out he is expelling CO2. Maybe he should stop doing that too.
