McCarthy on Jordan Losing Third Speaker Bid: ‘We’re in a Very Bad Place
Breitbart ^ | 10/20/2023 | Pam Key

Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Friday on CNN’s “New Central” that Republicans were in a “very bad place” after Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for the speakership failed a third time.

Reporter Manu Raju said, “This went in the wrong direction for Jim Jordan. He clearly does not have the votes. Is it time for him to withdraw?”

McCarthy said, “That’s a question for him. I think we’ll go to conference here shortly and see which direction we go in.”

Well Kev, remember the promises you made to become speaker? All you had to do is keep them.

McCarthy is part of the problem. He sure as hell wasn’t the solution as Speaker.

Republicans look like they’ll be more than happy to let Jeffries take the Speakership......

15 votes to elect the previous speaker, but “we’re in a bad place” after 3 for his replacement?

Yea, there is that. And he didn’t. Not a single one.

I’ll hold my opinion until Jeffries is voted in by the democrats, who by the way vote as a block, and the 3-4 liberal east coast republicans who join them. The we’ll have majority House run by a minority leader. Jeffries can screw stuff up royally and then the democrats can blame it all on the majority republicans and sweep the House in 2024.

Way to go Gaetz. Hope you’re happy.

the Freedom Caucus should not support ANY other person for speaker until Trump is nominated and voted on. Put the RINOs on record to face their voters.

How would Tom Delay have handled this type of situation, back in the day? Any speculation?

Ultimately it’s a good thing. These people should all be getting primary challengers. The party should represent (look like the constituents). They are so far from that it’s ridiculous. I’d hope the Rats don’t get it but they might. I’m, ultimately, fine with that. Sure it would suck but nothing will happen under Repukes anyways. I guess they’ll get back to J6 committees and going after Trump.

“15 votes to elect the previous speaker, but “we’re in a bad place” after 3 for his replacement?”

It’s not the number of votes, it’s the fact that they have tried and failed with 2 different candidates.

One too hot, one too cold and I am not sure if they will be able to find one just right.

Yes we are. Exposed the RINO’s who do not want the Republican Party to be a credible opposition to the marxists/socialists. We have about 25 of them that have been exposed? Some of them from red states too.

Further proving the late PJ O’Rourke’s point:

“Republicans are the party that says that ‘Government doesn’t work’, then they get elected and prove it.”

Gaetz is my hero at least. We are tired of these spineless Republicans voting for CRs and letting the debt go to infinity. That’s why lending rates and Mortgage rates are SKY HIGH now. These people only service the lobbyists and not the people. Screw them. I knew Jordan was not going to fight for us. He quit because he didn’t want to continue to hold the 25 traitors accountable.
