Personally, I am spewing as much Carbon (CO2) and Methane(CH4) into the atmosphere as possible.

Good grief. Wrong.

Care to expand on that, Charlie Brown?

Kinda, yeah.

A relatively less dense volume of gas will defy gravity and streak skyward.

Vis: Helium.

Vis: Relatively warm atmospheric air.

Gravity ain’t stoppin’ that.

Also, is it any surprise that nighttime temperatures typically keep dropping in many places until shortly after sunrise?

Is it any surprise that overall in the Northern Hemisphere that average temperatures continue to fall even after the Winter Solstice has occurred in December, and the amount of sunlight starts increasing?

It takes awhile, in the fall, for the oceans in the northem hemisphere to cool. So by winter the oceans are cold and the temps keep going down.

From Earth Science:

During winter, the Earth continues cooling after December 21 because the average outgoing thermal radiation remains greater than the incoming solar radiation. The huge thermal mass means that winter is centered around mid to late January rather than around December 21.

Good choice. I’d hate to see you any more embarrassed than you already are by trying to defend such a stupid comment.

“It takes awhile, in the fall, for the oceans in the northem hemisphere to cool. So by winter the oceans are cold and the temps keep going down.”

Even though days are getting longer, there is still a net loss of heat resulting in lower temperatures.

The heat capacity of the ocean is much greater than that of the atmosphere or the land. As a result, the ocean slowly warms in the summer, keeping air cool, and it slowly cools in winter, keeping the air warm. Oceans moderate temperatures along the coast, causing summer to be less hot and winters less cold than in the interior. The surface temperature of the world’s oceans varies mainly with latitude, with the warmest waters generally near the equator and the coldest waters in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Certain types of radiation from space nucleate clouds on earth by creating cascading collisions among molecules of gas high in the atmosphere. To the extent such radiation is deflected away from earth, we get less cloud cover, and average temperatures rise. To the extent such radiation is not deflected but is instead allowed to strike the earth’s atmosphere unimpeded, we get more cloud cover, and average temperatures drop.

Why so vague? Spit it out! The type of ionizing radiation that contributes to cloud-formation is: Cosmic rays!

Your statements strongly imply that the concentration of these gases stands in direct relation to the "deflection" of this ionizing radiation - and that those concentrations very.

So my question now to you: What gases in Earth's (upper) atmosphere - with a variable concentration! - mask / deflect / absorb / trap this ionizing radiation and thus affect the nucleation of clouds in the troposphere?

Regards,

“What a stupid article.”

Yep. Truly moronic! And ignorant.

People like him embarrass our side.

Gases in the atmosphere act as a blanket not as a heat storage (although like a blanket they do hold a bit of heat for a short time).

The warmists claim for CO2 is that it is a somewhat better blanket than the other gases, that it offers a bit more resistance to heat radiating from the earth’s surface to outer space.

And that may be true to some extent, but where they go completely off the rail is claiming that the 3% of CO2 that man dumps in the atmosphere each year (the other 97% coming from “mother nature”) is going to lead to a catastrophic, life ending Armageddon.

That’s the part that is preposterous!

His statements are no less false than the eggheads who told us CO2 causes global cooling.

What a resounding endorsement!

Vis: Helium. Vis: Relatively warm atmospheric air.

I think the word you're looking for is "viz." - which is the abbreviation of the Latin word videlicet, meaning: "Please see."

Rising CO2, according to the ice core data, is a lagging indicator. IOW... temp goes up, and then CO2 goes up.

Water vapor on the other hand... That is the stuff that REALLY keeps us warm...

“..strongly imply...”

No.

Not even “imply”.

Can’t stop you from inferring anything you wish to infer, though.

Not sure why you’re saying what you’re saying, but, to each his own.

Too lazy to cite sources today buy anyone might try to track them down. You might even be aware of them.

Cloud cover blankets us for a night but eventually freeze us solid.

It’s the cloud cover. Not the mix of gases in the atmosphere. The “Climate Crisis” is pure propaganda/bunk.

Ultimately, it’s the immense and prominently positioned Sun that calls the shots. Not puny mankind.

Clouds are a mix of gases in the atmosphere.
