Colbert is born and bred DC. It was only a matter of time before the rabid leftism overtook him.
“I saw someone (I can’t remember who) recently commenting that the left only does material that makes people in political agreement with them clap but not really laugh. IMO, that ‘s not comedic.”
Liberal late-night host: “Donald Trump is a racist, and his voters are stupid,”. Audience cheers.
Rival liberal late-night host: “Donald Trump is stupid, and his voters are racists.” Audience cheers.
No laughs, just cheers. Rush used to say effective humor has a grain of truth behind it. The left just doesn’t have that anymore.
I recall that Jay Leno wrote a lot of his own monologues, so he was able to weather the strikes with live shows, no matter what.
We watch most nights. Fewer poop jokes, but still too many, IMO. My 5-year-old granddaughters would have loved them, but at 7, they’ve outgrown them. Also too many jokes about having women in basements and vans.
I think he’d get an even bigger audience if he didn’t make the show so Fox-centric. What’s his obsession with Brian Kilmeade and Larry Kudlow. The jokes about them make no sense and non-Fox viewers don’t know who they are.
Colbert is the nastiest # I’ve every seen on TV.
“ Are his jokes still 50% homosexual and poop? That’s the reason I stopped watching his show.”
Yes. Awful.
“ The best comedians left you wondering what they voted for. Johnny Carson for example.”
The best comedians left you not caring what they voted for. Johnny Carson for example.
Ah so liberal leaning comedy “punches up” in their words. Do tell me about SNL and all those late night comedians jokes about Obama. I mean, he was president for 8 years. You don’t get more “up” than that. What did they make fun of him for?
*crickets*
BTW, who is “up”? Isn’t it most billionaires? Who do they vote for? Isn’t it CEO’s of major corporations? Who do they support? How about Wall Street? Who do they give the most money to? Big Tech? Oh I know! How about Hollywood and Academia?
Who’s really punching “up”? Here’s a hint - it ain’t liberals/leftists.
Somewhere in there I hear The Spanish Inquisition.😉
Greg built a winning cast
Kat Timpf is clever, and hawt

Timpf is from Detroit, Michigan. She graduated magna cum laude in 2010 from Hillsdale College with a B.A. in English.[12][13]
Much of Left wing talk show laughter is just agreement. The jokes aren’t funny. The audience is just agreeing
Late-night dumbassity is all the RATS have. It does make the “slow” college kiddies in their “I GO TO COLLEGE” sweat shirts laugh though when they are high or drunk.
He is not missing you.
Exactly right.
Exactly right.
Hows Colbert doing these days with his “appendicitis?”
Oxymoron; Liberal humor. It just isn’t funny.
So many comedians I never would have known without the Gutfeld show! The fact the mainstream Left media doesn’t even know about them is a blessing, because as they get famous, they try to cancel them.
Of course, regulars like Tyrus and Kat.
Jamie Lissow is a comedic power force.
Tom Shillue’s Biden is the best impersonation ever.
Jimmie Falla, Joe Devito, and Joe Machi are Staff comedians who get to be on periodically and are great.
I also never would have heard of: Tyler Fischer, Mike Baker, Mike Loftus, Kennedy, Jim Florentine, or David Angelo.
And people I wouldn’t say are comedians but are outright funny include Dagan McDowell, Julie Bandaras, Buck Sexton, Erin Prerrine, Lee Zeldin, Douglads Murry and Walter Kernm, to name a few.
