They’re trying to turn the U.S. into Canada. When you go to the doctor for a hangnail they’ll suggest euthanasia.
I’m shocked Minnesota is not among them. This is one of the devil’s favorite states.
” They’re trying to turn the U.S. into Canada. When you go to the doctor for a hangnail they’ll suggest euthanasia. “
For Canada, as the health care system goes further into financial crisis they keep removing various procedures and treatments from insured services.
The last three remaining will be: abortion, sex change operation, Medically assisted suicide.
Should be better / more intense palliative care, not suicide.
Nonsense. The term killing humans is not in the bills. It merely allows for the termination of carbon based life forms. That seems pretty innocuous.
Under the conditions you described, I would agree.
Agreed. I would never myself want to live as a crippled or disabled old man. Nobody asked me if I wanted to come into this world but I should have a say so in how I want to leave it.Every one should have the dignity to leave this world when they want to end it.
Agreed, although you will catch hell on this forum.
As we know from our experience of moral issues in most of our lifetimes, the slippery-slope of the Culture of Death is well greased. Very quickly the “right to die” will soon transmogrify into the “obligation to die.” Governments and doctors will decide what individuals are desirable to be allowed to live, while the sick, old, and “imperfect” will be expected— and even forced— to get it over with and stop burdening everyone else.
I would agree with you. My wife and I have no children or anyone we can rely on as we age. If she goes first (and she is older by 9 years), the. I get sick…I would rather have an option to end it with dignity rather than suffer, become a burden for someone else, or wind up in a nursing home to stare at four walls while I wait to die. That’s not life anymore.
You get a TRIPLE AMEN from me on that statement.
They love abortion, but don’t want people to off themselves, or at least didn’t until recently. Then they studiously protect murderers so they can use them for population control with new victims. They hate the death penalty. What an insane bunch.
Informed consent. What’s wrong with that?
Libertarian dittos.
My hub as a classmate taking the “pill” tomorrow...he is 72...and in pain...his wife died a few years ago. Both heavy smokers. I guess he’s decided it is time.
In difficult agreement, FRiend.
Me too, I thought our Gopher State would have been number one. Maybe our atty general is too busy fishing for the next tobacco settlement.
I haven’t seen too many “recent immigrants”. It’s too cold up here. The guys (no matter what color or nationality) who are walking around or shoveling their driveways wearing flip-flops and shorts are Native Minnesotains.
By the way, anybody can kill themselves any time they want. Why get the State involved?
...I would never myself want to live as a crippled or disabled old man. ...

Dear Mr. East Forks (not Grand Forks, ND)
I am an advocate for a crippled disable man. 55 yo, quad. He wants to live. It’s my “job” to visit him everyday, make sure that he isn’t too neglected and put on his favorite sports shows. Scott WANTS TO LIVE.
I hope that one day you have loved ones who love you enough to want you to live until God decides it’s time for you to go. Scott’s pastor told me this: Scott will die in God’s time. I am not qualified to decide if he should live or die.
I am a 71 yo man who has and still do hunt, fish, rebuild old houses and am out and about everyday and have every day of my life. I would never want to burden anyone with having to take care of me.
