Trump should have seen a red flag with Coney and Notre Dame.

The justices may be fearful for their own safety and try to keep liberals at bay by voting for liberal court decisions.

Alito was picked by GWB, probably to his later regret.

Ahh ... correct. Thanks. I even looked it up an didn’t see the lack of an “H” in the President’s name.

The quote from Texas AG Paxton mentioned “temporary”:

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4212201/posts

“The Supreme Court’s temporary order allows Biden to continue his illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America,” Paxton said in a statement. “The destruction of Texas’ border barriers will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe. This fight is not over, and I look forward to defending our state’s sovereignty.”

And yet she has sided with the majority 84% of the time, on a relatively conservative 6-3 court.

Please stop with that kind of info. People who are ignorant aren’t going to like it.

Where I think the feds have jurisdiction is at officially established border crossings; but border crossings at other, unofficial locations — i.e., illegal crossings — should fall under the rights and powers of the affected state for such crimes as trespass, vandalism, vagrancy, or any other act that falls under state law. But states do NOT have authority over immigration, as that falls under the feds.

You are correct but the Fuds are over-reaching their power (again) with semantics. The case should be clear that illegal immigration/alien invasion is totally NOT "immigration/migration" by persons of good standing coming here the right way. And THOSE people are really getting hosed by the line-jumper criminals.

No one brought it up, but if that WAS Roberts' name in the Epstein flight logs that may indicate he's blackmailed - and therefore too compromised to sit on any court. They may be Appointed For Life but last I heard Congress can remove them.

My mother was an immigrant — a LEGAL immigrant — and she played by the rules, and did everything the way she was supposed to. She wept the day she became a US citizen.

As for Roberts? I have no idea about him and any connection to Epstein.

But, there is some suspicion as to the “iffy” way he allegedly adopted his kids, such as being “creatively flexible” when it came to the law. But, it is just suspicion at this point, and should be afforded no greater nor lesser credence than suspicion is entitled.

this appears to be on a preliminary injunction. if so, the main case still needs to be heard, which means there is still a slim chance that the rule of law might prevail (yes?).

I'm surprised no one agreed with you on this point. I believe their vacating the injunction just sends the issue back to the appeals court for further deliberation.
