EU Leaders Isolated Orban to Seal Ukraine Aid Deal

To get Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to end his block on a 50 billion euro ($54.3 billion) aid package for Ukraine, other European Union leaders teamed up ahead of a crunch summit to deliver a stark message: You're on your own this time.

The veteran Hungarian leader, who maintains close ties to Moscow despite its invasion of Ukraine, has been adept in the past at finding enough support among his peers to drive a hard bargain in EU negotiations.

But in the days and hours before Thursday's special summit in Brussels, leaders - individually and in groups - told Orban that the other 26 members of the union were united behind the deal and he would face consequences if he continued to block, according to EU diplomats and officials.

Similar messages came from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and, importantly, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, an ideological ally of the populist Orban.

There was a point when some government agency declared school buses would have seatbelts and if any kid unbuckled when the bus was in motion the motor would shut off. As you could imagine, the motors got shut off so frequently the whole thing was killed. The EU is the same ridiculous design. I understand why they did it this way, but it’s not going to work long term.

So they can print a bunch of Euro notes, give them to Ukraine, who then trades them for dollars to buy US made weapons. We can then use the Euro notes to buy cuckoo clocks and expensive perfumes.

Being a member of the EU makes it easy for Hungarian citizens to leave the country for supposedly greener pastures in other EU countries.

Hungary should think about leaving the EU and calling back its people.

Hungary is the EU’s version of Belarus. Orban is a poor man’s version of Lukashenko.

Turmoil In Kiev Escalates As Ukraine Loses Ground To Russia

Ukraine confronts two deficits that cannot be remedied for at least one year — 1) lack of trained manpower and 2) lack of ammunition, air defense and reliable combat vehicles. Russia enjoys a clear tactical advantage on both counts.

Helmer succinctly describes Russia’s plan for the near term:

When the General Staff have been discussing with President Vladimir Putin the timing of the Russian offensive to force the Kiev regime into capitulation, it has been agreed, understood, and repeated that the strategic reserves of the Ukrainian forces should be destroyed first, together with the supply lines for the weapons and ammunition crossing the border from the US and the NATO allies.

This process, they also agreed, should take as long as required with least casualties on the Russian side, as determined by military intelligence. Also agreed and pre-conditional, there should be no repeat of the political intelligence failures of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) which precipitated the failed special forces operation known as the Battle of Antonov (Hostomel) Airport from February 24 to April 2, 2022.

The EU isn't working because the EU doesn't enforce the budget and productivity goals it imposed on those countries that wanted to go on the Euro.

Most of the poorer countries in Europe would be better off going back to their old currencies. It would be painful, but they could devalue those currencies which would make life tougher for their citizens, but make exports more competitive and could lead to economic turnarounds.

Gotta rush headfirst into a new war on the continent.
It’ll be a splendid little war, be done by Christmas, right?
And globohomo just HAS to do what they can.
That’s what this article is that you’re posting, the tale of how globohomo isolated Orban.

in solitary confinement.
