Scientists say hurricanes are growing so powerful that we need to add a Category 6. Here's what that would look like.

Climate change is driving up more than just Earth's temperature. It's making hurricanes more intense, too, which should make us revisit how we categorize these destructive storms to better warn people at risk in the future, researchers reported in a new study.

The researchers recommend adding a Category 6 to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which currently ranks powerful tropical storms based on wind speed starting at Category 1 (74 to 95 mph) up to Category 5 (157 mph or higher).

The "or higher" for Category 5 storms is where scientists take issue.

And for that last several years, the number of hurricanes hitting the continental US has been in the record low numbers.

Hmmm, I'm a "scientist", a real one.

And, I call nonsense.

We don't need new categories of storms, we need the SCIENTIFIC METHOD to be described, respected, employed, and discussed in everything (everything) related to the (apparent) climate change big con.

Lemme guess, because of Global Warming, Climate Change, Climate Crisis, Climate Catastrophe or whatever they call it now.

The topic of the weather has gotten so out of control it
sounds more like hysterics than straight info.

Can’t they find someone over 13 to write stories about the
weather?

Meanwhile, real scientists say that a category 6 storm is impossible because there isn’t enough energy coming from the sun to power one.

Maybe those impacted by annual hurricanes should take Sam Kinison’s advice: “MOVE!!! Just f***ing MOVE!!!” 🤣

Wonder when we are going to get back to “OMG! Holes in the ozone layer.”

This climate crap started with The Club Of Rome (precursor to the Davos crowd) in the late 60’s with “The Ice Age is coming!!!!”

This planet’s climate change went to extremes even before humans existed.

At one point CO2 was so high ferns were as tall as trees but somehow life continued.

Yes, so true...

They are making a big deal out of the rainfall here in Los
Angeles the other day. It was close to 4.05 inches. It
beat the record for the specific day which was 2.50 inches.
(Rounded numbers, not meant to be spot on for conversations’s
sake).

While the 4.05 inches sounded pretty dire, the record
rainfall in Los Angeles for one day has stood unbeaten
for 65 years. It was around 5.70 inches in 1958, about
a third of a century before the new ice age talk turned
to global warming talk, then Climate Change once talk
of that couldn’t stand up to scrutiny.

If the adult children of today would read up on weather
stats from the past, they’d find out this ho-hum
weather is downright laughable for the most part.

Yes, some people had trees blown down, property damage,
water in their homes, but they didn’t think of these
things when buying their homes.

I won’t be buying a canyon home where water is sure to
flow if it rains hard. I won’t buy a home with a big
tree a few mere feet from it.

Weather has been happening for the life of the planet. It
has done its own thing. It will continue to do so.

News to the weak minded, not atmospheric rivers, bomb
cyclones, or any other description designed to scare
other weak people is going to make you right when you lie
your ass off on this topic.

(of course “you” does not mean RWC.)

How about we go to a numeric binary system that even the MSM can understand?

0= no hurricane.
1= we’re all gonna die.

The only wind we really need to worry about is the hot air being blown about in congress and Davos.

Meanwhile, real scientists say that a category 6 storm is impossible because there isn’t enough energy coming from the sun to power one.

In that case, they will reassign the wind speeds to make another category and then voila, now the climate is *worse* and the *proof* of that is category 6 hurricanes.
