They got themselves into a bit of a jam. There’s no love for Kamala but they are not going to bypass their first black female presidential candidate for a white guy. Unless ... Biden and Kamala both voluntarily decide to not run for President in 2024. I don’t see that happening but it’s always possible.
They may just stay the course with Biden since they have other tools in their toolbox to affect the outcome. This dementia thing is old news anyway but just continues to get worse.
I hope Big Mike doesn’t run.

There is one reason that democrats have not dumped Biden for running again: Trump.
Democrats kept Biden running again because they could claim that Biden ‘beat’ Trump once and would do it again. Democrat leadership believed that, when they ‘won’ in 2020, they could beat Trump again with Biden, and when Biden ‘wins’ again, they could point at the fact that if Biden won the first time, it wouldn’t be hard to win again (under the same circumstances and same campaign tactics, including the cheating factors). Thus, they could say that, it wasn’t too hard to ‘beat’ Trump again because he had done it before.
But, democrats tried very hard to get Trump from running again, and if they had succeeded, they would have brought in somebody different to run against whoever the republicans had brought in to replace Trump. But, Trump fought hard and looks like the inevitable republican candidate in the fall.
Democrats were stuck, but now have a ‘new’ excuse to get Biden off the campaign, and it’s quite possible that, the narrative offered by the special prosecutor was planned in order to declare Biden incapable of being president again. Excuse him from prosecution, but cause larger damage to get him gone. Democrats are now pretending that what the special prosecutor did was wrong and irresponsible, but, in the background, it’s exactly what democrats were after. They just have to figure out a way to get Biden to resign or give up the campaign, without giving credence to the arguments about old age and dementia and mental incapacity.
Democrats will find a way, and it was all part of the plan all along.
