The words, "Kentucky prison guard," do not exactly evoke images of seductive glamour.
I know a man who was in law enforcement for many years. He spent several years as a prison guard. He told me he trusted the inmates far more than he trusted the other guards.
“Not if it was voluntary.”
The reason the military code of justice does not allow sex between the ranks is because the situation is not “voluntary” if the senior rank is having sex with a junior rank. It’s considered coercive. To avoid any possibility of coercion the code forbids it. The same should hold true if one is a prisoner and the other is a guard. Also, the same as between teacher and student.
It means that if a man sees a pretty girl and tries to go talk to her that she doesn’t go into her purse and pull out a cross to hold in front of him and tells him to go away in the name of Christ.
Unless you are in the top 20% of attractiveness, males who are insufficiently attractive takes a lot of judgement and abuse just because they exist. Not every male in that 80% is strong enough to take society’s rejection and they seek what they can to be loved.
So, some become seek solace in homosexuality, transgenderism. Some seek what they missed out in their childhood during their school years through pedophilia or pornography or ephebophilia or other sexual sins. I’m not justifying that, but I think of sexual crimes can be found rooted in childhood rejection.
The state prison systems are so toxic for so many reasons. There is an attitude that people in prison get what they deserve, or at least there is on strong constituency for prison reform. So you get guards who are no better than gang members or guards who prey on prisoners. And its not just the guards. The phone calls and prison commissary are incredibly expensive / profitable and those contracts usually are given out based on bribes or kickbacks. This country really needs a good prison reform movement. Prisoners should not live in luxury. But its should not be a jungle where the weaker ones are being beaten and raped either.

Any prison guard that would have sex with an inmate deserves what is coming. The inmate now has their DNA and can use it as they wish. That’s how guards often get compromised into bringing in drugs and other contraband or doing favours on the outside for the inmate.

Im so happy to read this. I agree. Prison reform could be an issue that all good people from both sides could come together on. We arent caging animals, we are incarcerating humans. It seems that what we have now is a place for predators to abuse a captive group. (like hunting at the zoo)
I know that prisoners have (mostly) done egregious things to be there and I want them punished and removed from society but this is getting so bad.
