CNN — President Joe Biden delivered his annual State of the Union address on Thursday. His statements were mostly accurate, a CNN fact check found, but he also made a smattering of claims that were false, misleading or lacking key context.
Biden repeated his familiar misleading boast about how he had supposedly reduced the federal budget deficit, failing to explain that the decline overwhelmingly occurred because emergency pandemic spending from President Donald Trump’s tenure expired as schedule. He falsely claimed that “not anymore” would big companies be able to pay no federal income tax, overstating the impact of the 15% corporate minimum tax he signed into law.
He misleadingly cited an alternative calculation from economists in his administration as if it was an actual federal tax rate paid by billionaires. And he left out context in discussing Covid-19 deaths, suggesting that far more deaths occurred during the Trump era than actually did.
Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama made few specific assertions of fact during her official Republican response to Biden’s address. But Britt did falsely say, in present tense, that inflation is at a 40-year low; it no longer is.

CNN fact checking anyone is a joke, but a CNN fact check of Biden is repugnant.
“Mostly truthy” is more like it.
Democrats say Biden’s now a fiery “fighter,” a screaming, angry leader of limitless accomplishments.
So what happened to the kind, gentle doddering bereaved oldster Special Counsel Hur told us about?
Hur said THAT Biden was so forgetful, too nice and no one could possibly hold him accountable for mishandling boxes of US classified documents.
THAT Biden....... who undermined the safety and security of American Families with complete impunity....... has now “morphed” into a “trusted beacon of Democrat leadership” with just one speech.

So he made a deal w/ Kamala .......gave her the speech and told her
to memorize the red-lined parts so she’d know when to stand up.

I think his handlers looked at the trajectory he was on and decided that if they needed any campaign material, they’d better get it ASAP.

To save face, HE should do a fact check ... and, say, this is why I allowed this man to speak ... to expose all of his lies and incompetance.

And speed, he raced in so fast he forgot that the Speaker was supposed to introduce him before his reading.
He didnt look feeble and I think that was the goal. Probably over compensated but if this is how he sounded all the time people wouldn’t be concerned with his age. I only watched a few minutes but that is what i saw. He was yelling and talking really fast.

I wonder if the billionaires paying taxes, he makes a reference that he will pay taxes on money he gained from China while he was Vice President.
