Former President Donald Trump has not shown that he has enough cash to cover the full amount of a $464 million civil fraud judgment if he loses his appeal, New York’s chief law officer warned in a court filing Monday evening.
New York Attorney General Letitia James raised that concern as she argued that Trump and his co-defendants should be required to post cash or bonds covering the entire fraud judgment, if they want to pause it from coming due while they challenge the ruling.

So if the original judgment was 10 billion, then Trump would not be able to afford to appeal? Isn’t there something patently wrong about the position that you have to post the judgment in order to get it removed?

The Sarasota Airport Authority Board was so astonishingly corrupt the (if I recall) Democratic governor threatened to remove them all from office. He didn’t do it, but their corruption became much less and much less visible as a result of the threat. At least in Florida, apparently the governor can remove corrupt officials. I want to say a serving sheriff was removed about twenty years ago.
The NY governor felt it necessary to say in a speech that this prosecution was just for Trump and no one else needed to fear anything like it. Then, a few days later the DA announced she was taking down one the nation’s largest meat producers using the same laws she used against Trump. (No crime committed, but you owe us money.) There is apparently a rush of companies in NY heading for the border.
It seems unfair that Trump must come up with any money at all to challenge a ruling from a corrupt justice system, but here we are.

Based on this skank’s conduct, I would be worried that even if I won on appeal, she would not return the funds.
All I know is that Trump does not seem the least bit concerned about this. Plus, with the Truth Social deal fully approved, he’s now worth an additional $4+ Billion.
She’s a distraction and a waste of Trump’s time and resources. Which is the goal of all of this lawfare.
