Half of Haley voters in Ohio say they'd back Biden: Preliminary exit polls

Two in 10 to as many as three in 10 Republican primary voters in Ohio continue to resist Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy -- and among those supporting Nikki Haley, half say they’d back Joe Biden in November, according to preliminary exit poll results from the Republican primary.

While majorities in preliminary exit poll data express loyalty toward Trump, the extent of intraparty challenges may matter in what’s expected to be a close contest in November. Despite his having sewn up the nomination, 21% of Ohio GOP primary voters would be dissatisfied with Trump as the nominee, 24% say he lacks the temperament to serve effectively, and 29% say he wouldn’t be fit for office if convicted of a crime.

Proving what we already knew, half of Haley's voters weren't even Republicans.

They really weren’t republican voters anyway. Just there to disrupt Trump’s win there.

I doubt this is true, or they were just Biden voters to begin with.

3 plausible explantions:
1. such Haley/Biden voters are knuckleheads;
2. they are motivated more by hate than by reason;
3. the poll is bogus.

Mi is not technically open. When you vote in the primary you have to ask for an R ballot or a D ballot.

These people are probably rats voting for Dolan in the R Senate primary. That is the race that matters today.

Was it an open primary?

You can declare yourself to be any party and vote in that party's primary election.

You switch parties to screw an incumbent you hate.

In Missouri about twenty years ago a lot of Republicans switched to Democrat to vote against governor Bob Holden.

That brilliant move gave us governor Claire McCaskill.

The rest is history.

This article is the usual garbage. Ohio has an open primary; you can pick whichever party ballot you want. This means that the RINO may win the R Senate nomination and I would bet at least half of the Haley voters were Democrats who wouldn’t even vote for her should she get the nomination. No wonder they wouldn’t vote for Trump; plus the best polls are showing Trump beating Biden by 8-11 points in Ohio which he won twice by nine points.

And we know the majority of Haley voters voted for Biden and Hillary and have zero intention of voting for her in the fall were she the nominee… these articles and those like them are just garbage to try to create a rearliry.

Here’s the truth. Biden maintains about 80ish percent do his support from 2020… and 1/2 of those who have left supporting him have moved to Trump. Meanwhile Trump retains 97% support among those who voted for him in 2020.

So as a rematch who do you think is sitting in the better position?

Add to this the fact that third parties that sat on the sidelines in 2020 are back on the ballot this time around, so who’s going to lose votes to the greens and the socialists etc?? Add RFK Jr as well and who do you think is in trouble this fall?!?
