And the cuts go on in the articles I am reading. "The President ventured out of the White House for the first time in 24 hours to visit the Pentagon...'; " Sensitive to any suggestion that Bush was in hiding and not at the helm,"; " Throughout Tuesday, images of the Pentagon in flames - smashed by a hijacked airliner - and White House aides fleeing across Pennsylvania Avenue provided a sharp contrast with pictures of Bush heading for an underground bunker hundreds of miles away." These are just a couple of quotes I found in articles, and I'm not even looking very hard.

And at the press briefing today, the reporters were particularly condescending. Campbell Brown wanted to know why AF1 flew around the US all day when the order went out at 9:45 am to ground all flights. There weren't any planes in the sky when AF1 was flying to Lousiana, she said. The eagerness to pin a label of cowardice or being out of touch is getting really tiresome (I wanted a stronger word, but I can't think of one right now.) It makes me want to yank those reporters neck first through my TV screen.

I noticed that there were earthen berms around the damaged area at the Pentagon.

This writer, and the others who are calling for the NFL to cancel its games are making a mistake. To call off the games is one of the hopes of the terrorists, and we should never give in to their demands. It's not about who wins or loses, but the fact that we will not be cowed by their cowardly acts and WE WILL NEVER GIVE IN.

I can't help but notice that the two greatest college football conferences, the SEC and Big-10, have said they will play Saturday, while the weaker sisters yield to fright. All I can say is "Hold that Tiger", "Roll Tide", "War Eagle", and "Hail to the Victors". We can't let ourselves be intimidated by a bunch of overaged teenagers on a power trip.

Now, I'm even more angry. I need to go pray, and then spend time with my family. God bless, keep, and cherish our United States. Huzza! for New York. Tonight we are all New Yorkers.

If my ranting hasn't become obvious, it should be. Time for bed. Good night, all.

Amen. Prayer has been the only thing to get me through the past couple of days. It is just such a helpless feeling to watch what has been going on and not be able to do anything.

And the media needs to quit it too. The Democrats are behind President Bush 100%, the media needs to get a grip on reality, shut their mouths, and report the news. Not their opinions, not their suppositions, but the news, backed up by facts. I was really struck today at how carefully the briefers were choosing their words, and also by the fact that they wouldn't say anything beyond what they could officially confirm.

Ruddy:

Clinton and company knew they could not just tell the CIA to stop recruiting spies. That would look stupid and embarrassing.

So they just changed the rules of how spies are recruited, raising the bar on requirements to such a high degree that the most valuable spies could never meet CIA standards and couldn't work for us.

Previously, I wrote how Clinton effectively stopped the recruitment of Chinese nationals by demanding that only high-ranking embassy officials could be recruited – knowing this is almost impossible. Roger told me that. Roger reminded me again of this today.

He noted that Clinton policies reached their zenith under CIA Director John Deutch and his top assistant, Nora Slatkin. The pair ran Clinton's CIA in the mid-1990s and implemented a "human rights scrub" policy.

Here's how Roger described it in an e-mail Tuesday evening: "Deutch and Nora, Clinton's anti-intelligence plants, implemented a universal 'human rights scrub' of all assets, virtually shutting down operations for 6 months to a year. This was after something happened in Central America (there was an American woman involved who was the common law wife of a commie who went missing there) that got a lot of bad press for the agency.

"After that, each asset had to be certified as being 'clean for human rights violations.'

"What this did was to put off limits, in effect, terrorists, criminals, and anyone else who would have info on these kinds of people."

Roger says the CIA, even under new leadership, has never recovered from the "Human Rights Scrub" policy.

I don't recall who .... today has become a blur .... but I heard several government officials today ..... I think Cabinet level ..... referring to the security leaks that have been on going in our country for several years now. It was very obvious to me what they were talking about.

I hope that more and more they are able to say such things ..... be more obvious about it ...... wake the people up to what has been allowed to happen to our country. Oh, God, I hope so!!!!!!!!

I think that was Rumsfeld. I saw it too. Sounded to me like they were also talking about people talking to the media.

Thanks for posting that article by Christopher Ruddy. I was wondering what they meant by the human rights scrub, now I know. Clinton left our country in this state where we could be bombed by terrorists. Even after 1993 and the bombing, he kept emasculating intelligence. I hope he can't find a flight back to the US from Australia.

I'm finally getting to the Dose .... and crying my way through it! And praying ..... praying constantly ..... praying fervently ..... just praying. God is our only refuge and our strength. How do people endure such things without Him???

It was Donald Rumsfield in his press briefing today that said that the leaks of classified information cannot go on. I think the jab was aimed at congressman, and others. I know that my doofus senator Orrin Hatch was blabbing his mouth off last night about the intercept of cell phone calls. His office didn't have any comment today.

And I was struck today how careful the Bush administration was to get the facts right and straight. They refused to speculate or confirm things they knew were classified. It is so nice to have the grownups back in charge.

I was quite annoyed when I heard that his office had said that. We do NOT need to be telling the terrorists how to evade us.

Last night I saw Christopher Cox on tv ...... someone was trying to pin him down on info learned in a security briefing .... asking him to confirm things Hatch had said .... Cox was steadfast in refusing to comment on the meeting .... the interviewer finally made some cute-sy remark and gave up. I'm learning to hate the media as much as BinLaden!

Yes, I don't know how people get through without prayer. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed a magnificent concert last night. They were performing for an insurance convention, but after news of the WTC tragedy came, they altered their plans a bit and dedicated their performance to the victims of the bombings and to their families. It was one of the most touching concerts I have ever heard (watched.) They started out with the Star Spangled Banner, and ended with God be with you til we meet again. That is where I lost it. For an encore they performed The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Wow, just the majesty of that hymn and the words and the music. I really wish they could have broadcast that performance to the whole nation. It really healed my soul and gave me a measure of peace.

I saw your report about that last night ..... you are very lucky to have been able to see it. Yes, that would be something very inspirational for the whole country right now. Heck, even the members of Congress on the Capitol steps yesterday singing God Bless America tore me up.
