David Pecker, the president of American Media, tells the NEW YORK POST that woman librarian at office building already being treated for pneumonia tested positive for anthrax exposure... CASE #3?: WOMAN SAID TO TEST POSITIVE FOR ANTHRAX EXPOSURE
Hope I did this thread II right, never did one before.
This is from the Palm Beach Division of Emergency Management. It is updated periodically so it is a good place to check.
Anthrax Incident

EOC Activation Level 2: Partial Activation
Current Situation
The on-going investigation of anthrax in Florida has detected evidence that the bacterium that causes anthrax was present in the building where the patient who died of anthrax worked. One of the environmental samples collected at the workplace contained the bacterium, and additional samples are being analyzed for the bacterium. Anthrax is not contagious from one person to another; therefore other members of the community are not at risk. Public health and law enforcement officials continue their investigation.
Protective Actions:
The Palm Beach County EOC remains activated at level 2 in support of county, state and federal health departments monitoring and responding to the situation. For information, citizens may call the Palm Beach County Warning Point at 561-712-6428 or the Florida Department of Health at 1-800-342-3557.
In the event that additional protective actions become necessary, the EOC will notify all partner agencies and all municipalities. No conference calls have been scheduled at this time.
Municipalities taking protective actions should report these to the County Warning Point at 561-712-6428.

The source apparently wasn't that great, because the poster really got flamed, but if there was only a bit of truth to it, it is very interesting and very scary. The guy who claimed this was apparently arrested at some point and time for having vials of some form of disease.
I've done a search but cannot find this thread. If anyone could throw a link up for it I'd be grateful. I would be interested in reading it again. At this point, anything is possible.

isit2 (0) (view author's auctions) 7:33am October 9, 2001 (#43 of 43) My friend's sister was on Entertainment Tonight last night (Monday) -- I don't know what personal information was given out on the show... and it's certainly NOT appropriate for me to give that here. She has also been contacted by 20/20, so you may see her (or someone else from the building) on the next show. She was in the building and they were concerned about her exposure. The test should take about a week to process.. and in the meantime she has been given antibiotics. They seem to be very concerned that she was exposed -- but it will be a few days before the culture comes back. This ISN'T something to joke about -- and I only posted this because I know the girl's sister (this is not a rumor).
(1) This wouldn't surprise me. Guys talk to girls and visa-versa, so sometimes this kind of "channel" can be interesting.
(2) Of course, in terms of "conspiracy tradition" there is a role of the girl who cried wolf. Remember, in the movie "JFK" that junkie that got thrown out of the car at the beginning, ranting about the plot to kill Kennedy? From what I've read, that's based on real info. It would only be _fair_ that an anthrax plot would have its own "girl who cried wolf."
(3) On another topic, has anybody heard anything about USA Today newspaper? At a couple of local stores here south of Chicago, there have been no deliveries for two days. Is USA Today associated in any way with American Media?

Great...my daughter is allergic to the quinolones. What else is currently being used? Traditionally I know penicillin G and tetracyclines have been used, but what about today?
An article from the Sun-Sentinel follows -- but here's the kicker. One of my work friends has a sister who works in the building. She was just checked by the health department, and SHE IS INFECTED. She's 21 and they caught it early enough, so SHE will probably be fine. However, she reports many other people in the building were infected also.
However, it is now becoming evident that this might have been a mistaken conclusion, for it ignored the possibility that terrorists could also have what I would call "plan B": a series of small-scale, isolated attacks that would only infect a few people at each target site. Such small-scale attacks are much easier to pull off technically. Yes, they would not kill massive numbers of people. But, once it became undeniably evident that the terrorists were capable of such attacks and had started launching them against a number of different and seemingly random targets around the country, they would have an effect that would be very useful for terrorists: fear, terror, and panic. People would realize that ANYONE -- including themselves -- could be the next victims.
If such a plan B were undertaken in the midst of a concerted terrorist attack employing other measures as well, the impact would be devastating.
I see no reason at the moment to discount the possibility that just such a "plan B" attack has commenced.
Gee, missed the part about buying Gas masks. ANY MORON KNOWS THEY ARE NO GOOD FOR ANYTHING. This thread is simply keeping folks updated on a potential bio threat..Maybe you should be spending time reading your medical journals instead of this "crapola"..
How do you know isit2 is a male? Yes, it looks abit exaggerated.
