NTSB is the most credible govt source.

Yup. Her name is Angela. She's usually stuffing her face full of manigot' on her lunchbreak from the beauty parlor. She also "seen the whole thing".

People need to master these concepts like sentences, words, what they mean, etc. Ha, this is FreeRepublic with the density of conspiracy nuts per cubic inch approaching that of neutron stars.

The NTSB blew its credibility in the TWA 800 "investigation" - a clear and obvious cover up from the get-go.

At the White House news conference, one of the news people was asking Ari Fleischer if he'd heard that one of the pilots radioed in "mechanical" something or other, and Ari was quick to clarify that "initial" reports indicated that there were no unusual radio communications and that first facts were often the first ones to change.
I don't know what there is to the story, but the news guy asking Ari the question pressed him more than once on whether he had heard it or not.

The pilot didn't report problem? Truly weird and suspicious. One would think that he would have called in immediately with report of explosion. What would have kept him from doing so? Being a pilot myself (private not air transport), when things start going wrong in the air it can get real busy and seconds count. If you are trying to save the aircraft the last thing on your mind is letting the ground know you are in trouble.

Eyewitness accounts, especially this one from non-pilot tell virtually nothing. Metalurgy will tell it all. If fan is shredded, parts missing, is open and shut. Engine failure, first stage impeller, penetrating protective shroud, impacting wing spar, possible even pilots themselves. If bomb, metal from bagage compartment, baggage bin, etc, blown outwards.
Very easy, quick verdict.

I totally agree.

New sitcom this spring
Achmed and Abdullah, a couple of fun loving maintenance persons who work on those pesky planes. The laugh track erupts after every Okie Dokie that get's delivered stucatto style by Achmed when his dumb white supervisor, Mr. Ropeme, asks for the latest reports.

To clarify: Flight Data Recorder found, Cockpit VOICE recorder not yet found......although should be found in same area as the FDR.

I thought this was a very interesting perspective from Rockaway residents.

Once again, people are confusing "no evidence of (bleah bleah bleah)" with "no." No one in government has said that it wasn't a terrorist attack. They've said there's no evidence it was a terrorist attack. No on in government has said Al Quaeda didn't send the anthrax. They've said there's no evidence Al Quaeda sent the anthrax.
There's a HUGE difference.
People need to master these concepts like sentences, words, what they mean, etc.
Thanks.

Ha, this is FreeRepublic with the density of conspiracy nuts per cubic inch approaching that of neutron stars. Oh, sure. That's what you want us to think. That's exactly what an NTSB stooge like you would say. Nothing to conspire about here. Move along..... While we're at it, better expel some more Ay-rabs....
(How'm I doing?)

I share suspicions about TWA 800 (though still undecided). Nonetheless, NTSB is the least political of all govt agencies. Funding is independent of committees. Members are not political, just engineering types.
