Click on eBay "Community" (up at the top of their home page) and then check out the chat boards. Sellers and buyers are discussing everything you need to know about eBay problems or questions and it's all organized by subject. Lots of helpful hints here.

Hey man, don't feel pregnant..

It took phone calls and a personal threat to get a computer out of a local (fortunately) ebayer who refused to ship 60 days after the mo was cashed..

Ebay and their mediation BS doesn't seem to be very effective.

Seems like you are on your own on Ebay.. Regardless of what they say.

Good luck..ebay does squat to protect sellers although they collect all your vital info to do so. I doubt you will get much more than a pat answer from ebay "customer service". Best of luck to you and I got my credit back right away when I did the form the other poster mentioned.

Dennisw, I had to do this process several months ago myself. It is a long drawn out process (cause Ebay people are greedy arxes). You have to send a non paying bidder warning first to the bidder, then wait a durn month or so for them not to respond (I have never heard of them actually responding if they will not respond to your emails). After the time elapses (and you still remember it) you go back and post another form and they will credit it back to your account. It takes a durn couple of months to follow through, but I would do it just to make sure that rip-off Ebay didn't get it.

For future reference, you must file a non-paying bidder alert when a winning bidder doesn't pay. You must do this within 45 days of the auction closing. You must then wait 10 days (actually the 11th day) after you have filed a non-paying bidder alert before you can request credit for the final value fee. Once you do that, your account will be credited with the amount. Be advised that if a bidder is no longer a registered user, you will be able to file the non-paying bidder alert and request credit at the same time. Ebay's site will automatically take you to the credit request page. Don't forget to leave negative feedback for the moron who didn't honor the auction agreement.

Don't want to seem like a killjoy, but expecting personalized service on an $8 claim seems excessive. Maybe Ebay isn't doing everything it could, but if they refunded fees immediately after every claim they would be run out of business in a week. Maybe the world just isn't perfect.
