I realize this is actually about gun violence as opposed to gun accidents but you'll get the point...

Think about this:

a. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
b. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Then think about this:

a. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.
c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owners .0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. As a public health measure I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.

The Million Mom March promoted their cause by having several violent felons speak at the march in 2000. One lady in DC shot the wrong man she had assumed had shot her son. She used her son's illegally owned gun to do so. Another shot a man in Chicago if I remember correctly.

These folks should move to Louisiana where currently a serial killer is terrorizing the area having claimed at least three victims so far. The very anti-gun Miami Herald reported today that many formerly anti-gun WOMEN are lining up at area gun shops and gun ranges (subsequently, I would guess) for lessons on their newly acquired handguns! These "children" were no doubt in the 15-17 "range". By the way does she have the stats for child death (1) by automobile (2) swimming pools and (3) bicycles in the same time period? I'm willing to bet that the numbers were much more than 10.
