"If they don't send it,'' he said, "sometime in September or October I will park outside their store with a sign saying they discriminate against Canadians." I'm sure that the typical resident of Lawrenceville, Georgie will be shocked, saddened and deeply troubled that Canadians are being discriminated against. NOT!

No need for this Canadian to make a "rush to upgrade".

I also state in my auctions that I don't sell outside the USA for some of the same reasons you listed. What is amazing is that many Canadians ignore this and quickly pay for the auction using the US shipping amount and think you will ship it to them anyway and take a loss!

My husband is at Sun Training right now in St.Louis. I passed along this article. He's in with some lovely geeks who buy tons of computer equipment. I told him to pass the word!

"then they shouldn't sell to the 50 percent of Democrats and the 20 percent of Republicans that aren't supporting the war, either." Somehow, I just have a hunch that they have a nice list and won't ship to people named Michael Moore, Cheryl Crowe, Robert Byrd, Janine Godawfulho, Tom Daschle, Bill Mahre, Howard Dean, Al Sharpton, or Bill Farrell, among others.

The seller on eBay has the right to decide whether or not to sell to foreign bidders, as long as any restrictions are clearly stated in the auction description. Unfortunately, eBay is coming under increasing pressure from the political correctness crowd, limiting what can be listed, and even what words can be used to describe them. It is only a matter of time before eBay will be forced by these pressure groups to limit the sellers "right to choose" where they ship their merchandise.

Shipping to Canada has become a real pain, and expensive.
Just an hour ago I made a $24 Ebay sale to a Canadian. The 5 lb box will cost almost $20 to ship by post office. Then, there is the trouble of filling out the customs form.. What happened to free trade?

Seems to me that a trip to Atlanta in Sept or Oct might be in order.. if for no other reason than to see a Canuck get his ass kicked by a Georgian.

They often whine about postage costs. I started to get the feeling most Canadians live below what Americans consider the poverty line. We should do something about this.
Let's start a protest movement to get Canada to raise their minimum wage to a liveable salary!
