I've banned Canadians from bidding on my stuff before all the current cross-border stink started, simply because they are annoying late payers, who ALWAYS ask me to lie on the customs forms for them. They often whine about postage costs. I started to get the feeling most Canadians live below what Americans consider the poverty line.
I also waive shipping to APO addresses. Recommend others take up the practice. The least we can do.

Does anyone know where I can find that funny t-shirt that says "Today Iraq Tomorrow France"?

In somewhat related news, a source at the Baldwin compound expressed off the record cautious relief that Atlanta is now Canadian target #1.

I've seen several eBay sellers using the notation: "I ship internationally - except to locations in France, Germany and Belgium". I sent those sellers supportive messages, even if I wasn't bidding on their items. Evidently Canada has been added to the "Axis of Weasle" for good measure.

Ingram said Mitchell lacks a good business reason for not shipping to a Canadian It depends on whether Mitchell's policy is it's "nunya business."

I did a search and found this:
http://www.compatlanta.com/eb.htm
Scroll down the web page and you'll see: "At the present time we will not honor bids from Canada, Mexico, France, Germany or any other country that does not support the United States in our efforts to rid the world of Saddam Hussein."

We will gladly assist you and other Canadians should you wish to rid yourselves of your socialist government LOL!!

Just sent this reply:I have read of an instance where you have refused to ship a printer to Canada because of its government stance on the war with Iraq. I also read that this stance is applied to any country with the same stance as Canada. Let me say I a damn proud of your company and its position and for now on any computer products that I need to purchase, I will do through your company.
Thank you

It was my pleasure to send these good folks a supportive e-mail. May I suggest others do the same?

I sent them a congratulatory email along with a promise to do business with them in the future. Thanx for posting this.
Just called the company to show support and they were delighted to hear from me. Also told them about this thread (already knew about us...hehehehe) and they were happy to hear that we knew about this.....!

My daughter was working for Dell in the months following 9/11 and they wouldn't fill orders for multiple computers to Middle Easterners without investigating the intended use.

Ebay has the option to restrict sales to the United States, North America, or any selection of places. If I'm selling something, it's wholly up to ME who I wish to sell it to ... and if someone outside of the U.S. thinks that's "discrimination" -- well, it IS. Live with it.
Since the war began ALL of my auctions have been for sale to U.S. buyers only. I don't care to do business with the French or Germans (or Canadians, for that matter), and it's my right to do business with whom I choose.
