yes, even Oprah. Do you think, maybe, we could leave Oprah out of a thread dealing with ass-cracks and hip-hugger jeans? Thanks a bunch.

It's a problem in most schools. In my school, we have a few teachers who really come down on the kids for what they wear and how they act, other teachers just collect their paychecks and look towards summer vacations.
But, for the most part, they just don't want the hassle they will get from the parents, who buy the stuff and let them walk out of the house wearing those clothes.
To: Darksheare
I have been told by some that it's good to have opposing points of view in house to keep things tipped more towards balance. Huh... Well folks might say that, but they never really mean it.
Some folks of the "enlightened" persuasion think that my views on the death penalty, abortion, taxes, perverts, feminists, affirmative action and a host of other issues-- are nothing short of archaic and ignorant. I am well-accustomed to being judged on everything from the music I listen to, to the boots I wear and the vehicles I drive, and am generally regarded as a Neanderthal by liberal types. It does tend to make conversations more interesting, though I am probably more moderate than most people think I am, hehe...

The one that sid that really did mean that.
Everyone else looked at her like she'd just invited in dracula.
She probably said that because she doesn't HAVE political leanings in the sense that she favors one party over another.
*chuckle*
One woman there did say that I was evil.
But she said something stupid to me anyway.

Well, like the great Richard Feynman said:
"What do YOU care what other people think."
Barring certain individuals to whom I owe my respect... I don't.

Gaaah!
Me, I end up being a thorn in their side just by being there.
Not that I care what they think, rather the opposite - I'm there for the art, and just by existing in the same local area as they do seems to frost their shorts to no end.
I did get mean and ask the question, "Why can't we just be here for art?"
I got seven "hear hear's", and about five icy stares.
The rest of the room seemed oblivious.
At least two of those were working on sketches or paintings.

Dude, I'll be straight wi' ya. I don't understand most artists. In general, I don't understand anybody who doesn't realize the profound significance of 6 * 10^-34 J*sec. I guess I'm kinda dense that way, especially if the politics are deplorable. At least my crowd has some modicum of rationality in life; I would speculate that I would find your crowd unbearable. Nice to meet an artist-type with more than just background frequency going on upstairs.

I will say that I DID prefer being in the military, field artillery, where things made much more sense.
I do graphite pencil sketches, and sometimes dabble with watercolor.
Honestly, there's some artists that I myself absolutely cannot understand.
You probably would find the art crowd unbearable.
Me, I stink at math and always had trouble with algebra or worse.
Artillery was different and math wasn't a problem.
If it couldn't be blown up, it at least could be blown over or moved.
Once out of uniform, things got boring real quick.
And rightly so, nothing exploding.
Didn't make it to the last artist get together, I was busy at the time, so the ambient mental hiss types didn't feel ice in their shorts this time.
Rats.

LOL - you just proved my point.
no, I don't agree with her, but she is a highly successful business woman. And she is also real - she works hard to keep her figure, and it doesn't always work. But I think she's ok with herself, which is what matters anyways.

I did use my head. I have 3 tattoos, but would get past your first interview because you can't see them. Does that make me some sort if unsavory character? HA!

Sounds like you'd get the job then, splach78. ;)
I didn't mean anything personal but I'm an old-fashioned guy and I believe that appearances do matter.
