Why aren't people asking Bitchface this question: "HOW did YOU allow this to happen?!!"

Heads should roll over this insanity...of course people are so busy complimenting each other on how great they were during the crisis, no one has the cahonas to say WTF! happened?

To me, there is something very comforting about a massive failure in governance. It only proves less likely the thing we Freepers fear most.

They can't maintain a power grid, they can''t keep the public restrooms clean -- how the heck are they every going to rule the world?

Thanks for the pix. I think I might have been on that Weehawken ferry shuttle bus.

When I pinged you earlier, I meant to say: "Can you find yourself in these photos?" :-)

I happen to agree with you, AIT, even if the majority here are going to be belligerent about your thoughtful expression. Far too many Americans are isolated, ignorant, and unsympathetic about anything outside of their own little world.

I think most people who experienced this blackout didn't think it was that big a deal

That's true, and I was very proud to see how civilized (courteous even) New Yorkers were through this ordeal.

As I said earlier in the thread, a lot of credit goes to Rudy Guiliani who made NYC altogether more decent and civilized in his wake.

I hate to think what might have happened if this occured during the Dinkins administration.

Yeah we're lucky, but confusion and frustration are self-induced emotional responses. I think most of those "2/3 of the world's population" are happy and adaptable in their space in the world.

On the book tour. Getting the needed "strokes" from her "subjects". Although I believe she was calling from NYC during the blackout as she said she was speaking to her devotees (interns) when it hit.

Thanks. Good observation. And that is neither a conservative nor a liberal observation nor position. It is just common sense, and has been evidenced many times over for me to somehow not be true (and it is irritating to bring up to fellow Americans, as seen on this thread. truth can be irritating, especially when jingoist sacred cows are stepped on).
