I didn't catch that in 14 as I was thinking only of what 13 said. Thanks.

I am not a calvinist. You have mistaken me for someone else. My apologies, then.

saw that the first time...LOL.
Good hunting, my friend, Good hunting.
Tomorrow begins muzzle-loader deer season in Ohio. I just happened to get a new muzzle-loader for a gift. Spent a long time trying to zero it today. We're almost there.

Nobdysfool? This seems to comport with your two posts How To Be Born Again #244 and How To Be Born Again #444 Do you agree?I gave the article a quick read, so I'm not going to give an in-depth answer yet. I do see a couple things which trouble me. The author takes enough gratuitous swipes at Calvin to make me think that he, at least in part, is trying to undermine Calvin subtley. Every time he mentions Calvin it is with a perjorative. That is the mark of someone with an axe to grind.
His logic is a little shaky in some spots, precisely because he's trying to "disprove" Calvin, which takes him into little side-trips as he tries to establish his thesis. There is some that I can agree with, but some that strike me a little oddly, as though he's glossing over the weak points of his thesis, lest the weakness be spotted too easily.
I will give it a more thorough read, and attempt to answer the "problem" areas I see, although the answer may not come until Sunday, as I have family duties and fellowship to enjoy tomorrow. My grandchildren take priority over apologetics this time of year, since I don't get to see them as much as I'd like. My own adult children also fit into that categoy, although my son has been known to weigh in on FR from time to time, when he has time.
Until then, Blessings from God to all men of good will!

Visit the Pink Archive and you WON'T find a million sermons on predestination or God's foreknowledge. He's not ALWAYS waging war against the Arminians?I wonder if the reason behind that is because most people during his life time were probably calvinists, not as much need to defend his position.

...'I AM hath sent me unto you.'... Both Moses (The Servant...) and Jesus(The Son of I AM) were 'sent' (to communicate/relationship=personal God) to Israel!
ie. Alpha and Omega 'I AM' says Jesus of Himself!
Merry 'A&O' Mass!!
Happy Nu Year too!!

The Foreknowledge of "I AM" How racist of you not to include the ebonics version. It should read:
The Foreknowledge of "I BE"
drstevej, before you get all excited and call me a racist about this, I already have a rock-solid defense as to why it isn't.

I can get along fine without hearing it. No thanks.

It is interesting that Jesus was destined for the cross by the Father, whose will it was that he submit to the penalty which was ordained by God for our redemption. He laid down his life willingly for us. Yet, in the same act we see the wickedness of man crucifying the King of Israel, rejecting the reign of God, rejecting his kingdom. Jesus asks God to forgive their sin, the sin of killing the Messiah. So, you have two kingdoms opposing each other in one moment of time, perfect righteousness and sin climaxing in battle at the cross. In the act of Christ, God is well pleased, but in the act of the leaders of Israel who put him on the cross, sin and confusion. In the same act, two wills, two kingdoms, one of righteousness and holiness, one of pride and rebellion meeting at one moment in time to the destruction of Satan's power and authority. What wisdom there is in the cross, what honor and glory for our Saviour.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew; for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

but in the act of the leaders of Israel who put him on the cross The battle was broader in scope and time than you indicate. We all put Him on the cross.
(though I don't belive you intended to ignore our culpability)
