I bet there are some opinions about why newbies who sign up today to post inane one-line vanities don't last long around here.
No Comprende?
I see bunnies and pancakes in you future.
Does anyone have an opinion as to whether Rachel is smart enough to know how to use proper capitilization or punctuation?
No idea. You'd have to ask those who believe in "god."
Now God, on the other hand the living God and Father of Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible alone "needs" nothing at all. It is we who have all the needs. To read how He has met those needs, and how to avail yourself of what He has done, closely consider How Can I Know God?
To check out the "why," I commend to you Why I Am (Still) a Christian.

does anybody have an opinion on why god needs intermediaries ?
The short answer is that God doesn't need intermediaries.
He chooses to work through intermediaries (at times) ... very similarly to the way that we (humans) do.
Have you ever asked anyone to deliver a message for you (like the postal system) ?
Sometimes it's the preferred method.
