Your question is flawed.
God being perfect and complete in Himself has need of nothing and no one.
Your question is the equivalent of asking why does two plus two equal five. It does not and therefore the question is invalid.
Perhaps you would care to rephrase the question?

just a guess...not to much that he needs them to communicate with us as we need them to listen...maybe the intermediaries are the only ones who've perfected their relationship with him to here what he has to say...
