THE MOST STARTLING DEVELOPMENT IN WORLD HISTORY

Tuesday, May 24, 2005

1:00 a.m. Eastern

Writer's note: You may have more trouble with this column than with anything you have ever read. I can't say I blame you. It took me a lot of research time before I fully accepted the now-well-attested fact that God has been bringing hundreds of people back from the dead in recent years.

By Jim Rutz

As I was leaving New Delhi in 2003, I called an Indian friend, Rodrick Gilbert, who leads a network of house churches with 26,000 former Hindus.

"Rod," I said, "I have a little credibility problem in the United States when I teach people about resurrections. Could you send somebody over to my hotel who has come back from the dead? I'd like to take a few snapshots."

Rod graciously brought someone over himself – 7-year-old Arjun Janki Dass, along with his mother Mina, and Savitri, the lady who prayed him back to life.

Arjun died at age 5. The gist of his story:

At six o'clock on an April evening in 2001, Arjun was accidentally electrocuted by 220-volt wires touching his head.

His parents took him to a medical clinic where they worked on his body for two hours without success. They tried CPR, electroshock paddles, adrenaline shots – all the usual. But they couldn't get him off flatline. So the doctor charged them 5,000 rupees (about $110) and told them to call an undertaker.

But they didn't. Instead they called Rod at the nearby Deliverance Church. He then called upon Savitri, one of his staff members.

Savitri brought two other Christians to Arjun's home, and the five of them began praying over the dead body about 10:00 p.m. They prayed their hearts out for six hours with pleading and tears. Then, at 4:00 a.m. the next morning, Arjun snapped back to life with no brain damage, no physical problems.

Today, he's a normal 9-year-old kid except for two nasty scar lines behind his left ear where the wire hit.

Savitri is a 62-year-old widow, a Dalit (formerly called "untouchable") from the lowly Dom class. She spent her life as a street sweeper, which made her, in the caste system, the lowest of the low. The broom was her livelihood. In 1992, she turned from Hinduism to Christ. She remains today a fine, humble lady, and among the more serious people I have ever met.

As she and the others were leaving, I asked her through an interpreter: "I understand you've been active in ministry for six years. In that time, how many resurrections have you been involved with?"

She answered quietly: "Sixteen."

My neatly-ordered, conventional world began to spin.

I would give you Savitri's e-mail address so you could check her out for yourself, but she doesn't have one. She can't read.

You can view a few photos at Megashift.com. (After the intro, click on "About Megashift," then on "Resurrections.")

This is the new reality

The most shocking aspect of the growing turn of the world toward Christ is this: People are coming back from death after being prayed for by ordinary folks like you and me. To be specific, my newest book, "MEGASHIFT: Igniting Spiritual Power," documents resurrections in 52 countries, mostly in the last 15 to 20 years. And these are not the well-known, "near-death" experiences where someone on an operating-room table passes out and goes down a long tunnel toward a light. These are stone-dead corpses.

The flood of solid new evidence is compelling. Two or three reports could be dismissed as faulty rumors or candidates for "Unsolved Mysteries." But hundreds of firsthand reports from 52 nations? Some with death certificates? No way. (Yet a few of the miracles in "Megashift" are even harder to believe than a resurrection!)

Here is what it all means: The lockdown of the common man has come to an abrupt end. Many of the limitations your ancestors endured for centuries are now fading into the bleak and brutal past. The resurrections are only the most obvious evidence of a megashift in the functioning of eager-hearted believers whom the book of Revelation calls "overcomers."

The recent changes in the quality of human life are profound. God is pouring His grace and power into people in ways not seen before. I don't expect that most Christians will be doing miracles on a daily basis, but a radically new Christian lifestyle now spreading around the globe will soon dramatically enable you to upgrade your own way of living.

We'll touch on that next Tuesday.

SPECIAL OFFER!

"MEGASHIFT: Igniting Spiritual Power," documents resurrections in 52 countries and is available today for a 25 percent discount.

CERTAINLY, Auggy,

NOW THIS:

urgent request; Meri Burlingame; Jul 17, 2005

Dear Renewed Hope, I had a note from a very responsible subscriber tonight that works with the FBI by contributing "prophetic insight." She indicated that

there is an urgent need for prayer for our borders TONIGHT!!

Please, if you are up and get this Saturday night, I trust you might have been selected of the Lord to share in this.

Thanks.

And, from my perspective, I pray that all who are Led of The Spirit pray in Christ's Spirit in whatever spiritual warfare way this situation requires.

Thanks much.

to be more precise these are not resurrections but resuscitation's, since all die again.

Perhaps you are technically correct.

However, I think of resuscitations as having to do with folks who are still showing some signs of life within their bodies--they are not, per se, stone cold dead.

A good many, if not most, of these folks in this study were like Lazarus--stone cold dead for hours and even longer than a day in a number of cases.

Resuscitation seems a bit weak of a word for such 'bringing back to life' events.

I don't think we'd tend to call Lazarus resuscitated, would we?

Hi Quix good to hear from you. Hope you enjoyed your travels.

I understand this article completely and do believe this can happen. I hold true to the thought that we suffer from lack of complete faith. Which I can not even comprehend myself.

Also it seemed to me in the Dark Ages we lost something. I have no idea what except a deeper faith. Then GOD sent us Jesus Christ to fill the void.

If one could think like GOD and WE CANNOT, but anyone in a remote area like this and 6 hours of prayer I would send them a miracle.

We are so conditioned to a quick fix in life that I don't know a single person that would pray for a miracle of this sort anyway. I do believe there will be a time when some will see this kind miracle of GOD.

That was inspired, indeed.

Like my wife remembered this morning: I was an emaciated skeleton, with long, white hair, crawling around on the freakin' floor on hands and knees bellowing at that company to take that expensive wheelchair back--cuz i was gonna walk!!!! [LOL, starting to jog now, crazy, man=-)]

That was four years ago, Quix. Wife and I moving into house twice the size we are in, with five times the land, Aug. 1st.

A man, who four years ago:
1. Was on a gurney in the "refrigerator";
2. Had the sheet over his nude body--and face;
3. Had a toe-tag with name, time and date.
4. Had his death certificate filled out.

[Quix, saw a UFO 2 weeks ago. I get up early to work, so it was 4/4:15 when outside i saw a bright light about 10 o'clock high. It was linear and bright then "shrunk" and disappeared in less than a second. WOW!!]

I agree.

I believe we are going to see lots of this sort of thing.

Some even with children praying merely a sentence.

Thanks for your kind post.

Trip was good. Learned more about my family background.

Off again on Wed to AZ to see my blood dad for a week or 2.

Hope your weekend has been good.

Thrilled with your testimony.

Thanks much.

Nothing like verification fromt he [former] corpse's mouth! LOL.

Congrats on the new home.

Wow a double whammy post--a UFO sighting. What did you feel in your SPIRIT at that time?

Thanks much,

"What did you feel in your SPIRIT at that time?"

Like I said,I was working at that hour--taking a break--so didn't give too much thought as seen UFO's before, and flown over Bermuda Triangle, and so on.

Again, it was linear, like a pen lying on a desk, about the space of holding left thumb and forefinger apart an inch with left arm extended @ 10 o'clock.

Then that light just contracted--shrunk--in less than a second.

So, it must have been a fairly big one.

Have a blessed week.

Lazarus died again

QUITE SO. Lazarus died again.

And, it's reasonable for that reason to somewhat reserve RESURRECTION for that final utterly transforming RESURRECTION.

Nevertheless, we tend to say AT LEAST that Lazarus was RAISED FROM THE DEAD.

rususcitated is just tooooo weak a term for what's described in this research.

I can see from the dictionary meaning that coming back from the dead would be considered a resurrection and not a resuscition.

I was viewing it from a strictly theological view.

God is in charge of life and death.

We have a 98 year old woman in the church who suffers from dementia, extreme frailty, and immobility.

But it was a young woman (35 or so) with a young family, apparently healthy, who passed away last year. The autopsy never provided a clear answer.

People ought always to pray and never faint, because God is in charge of life and death.

Sure not in mine. People have no clue as to what God is doing (even me) across the world right now. So many naysayers, so little time (smile). Love, Mxxx

And there's something wrong about trying to get a message across in a book? Some of you FReepers haven't got a clue! Cheez.

I know at least three people in my own church who have prayed that way, one for a child who died in an accident, another for a sister who died of cancer, and one for another child. They truly believed God COULD do it. He chose not to, but their faith was strong that it was possible. I think so too, but I'm not sure that the U.S. is experiencing many miracles because of unbelief.

Naturally. Resurrections don't mean we won't die when the time comes. It's just a second chance, I guess.

No sweat. I prefer the Bible as ref even over the dictionary, of course!

I just couldn't feel that resuscitation was a hefty enough term for what God has been doing in these cases.

Thanks for your kind msg.
