Christian Unity on Free Republic [Vanity]
WPaCon | March 5, 2011 | WPaCon

Lately, there seems to be a lot of conflict on the religion forum. Much of this has been between Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox. To show that we are all united as Christians and to reduce animosity, I hope we can all agree to one of 4 following statements:

1) I am Catholic. I love Orthodox and Protestant Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.

2) I am Protestant. I love Orthodox and Catholic Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians and Catholics to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.

3) I am an Orthodox Christian. I love Catholic and Protestant Christians. I consider Catholics and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.

4) I am a non-believer. I love Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant Christians. I consider Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and Protestants to definitely be Christian. All Christians need to work together to defeat our common enemies-- specifically Islam, liberal postmodernism, and totalitarian communism.

I feel confident that most freepers agree to at least one of these statements, even if they do not say so.

If you agree with any of these statements, please feel free to say so.

Thanks!

I agree that spreading the Gospel is the most effective way to defeat these maladies.

“Are you one who plans to NOT donate to FR since I’m quite sure JR won’t change things to suit you? Quite a few of the whiners have tried that ploy to get their way...it didn’t work.

Courtesy ping JR.”

I never said any of that. I think you’re reading too much into my post. It’s just a plea to have more Christian unity.

Non of your chapter and verses say anything about being a god, a god of your own planet and having celestial babies. That's all the satanic ramblings of an adulterous con man named Joseph Smith, who is burning as we speak.

If you think this post was meant to criticize the anti-Mormons, it is not. I am not Mormon, but Catholic, so I very rarely visit threads concerning Mormonism.

I have seen some criticism of Mormonism that is over-the-top, but I really haven’t visited the Mormon-related threads enough to be comfortable criticizing anything on them.

So, I did not have critics of Mormonism in mind when I posted this, if that is what you are wondering. If you were not wondering that, please let me know.

“Physician, heal thyself.

Any possible sins of mine do not invalidate my article.

Since we are on the topic of Christianity and being Christian, you do affirm that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man, right metmom?

I don’t feel the need to do so.

But you felt the need to post... People lie, denigrate others, and blaspheme.

LOL!! Are you the example?

BTW,Christians HAVE unity 'in Christ'. And we didn't have to go around 'pleading' for it.

Just what we need, a n00b's very first post on the RF touting the political correctness of the liberals.

Some of us are not inclined to sing "Kumbaya" while Christ's Church is being demeaned.

AMEN!

"The Reformation is dying daily in our day when the Ecumenical Movement, and other forces like unto it, wish to soften the antithesis with Rome, today. I want to assure you that it's not my pugnacious debating nature that makes me say we must exalt that antithesis and guard it. It's my love for the Lord Jesus Christ and the purity of His word.

"Rome has not essentially changed. Rome declared that what it said at the time of the Reformation was infallible and could not change. Declared it to be irreformible truth. Rome has not changed and precious truths of God's word are still worth upholding even at the cost of unity even at the cost of being considered "troublemakers" in the religious world. We need to guard the antithesis against the destructive error of Rome." -- Dr. Greg L. Bahnsen From a tape, THE REFORMATION, October 28, 1990.

Do you include Mormons in your plea for Christian unity on FR?

Is that your style of unity - 'let's see what you believe and if it fits in with mine'? OR you wouldn't be carrying something from another thread months ago would you?

BTW, without sanctioning the like perversion of the Bible, the video on the top of this window should cause one to weep. It is no longer Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, but Arguing for homosexuality.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ9z4uIUBJk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s2J6JW1yI4

However, the reasons against it should include half a million Americans dead bcz of AIDS, and at least 25% of women with an STD, mainly because of the homosexual lifestyle in the former case, and promiscuity in the latter, among other deleterious aspects. And “homosexual marriage” redefines what it is not only in terms of who is joined together, but very very often the monogamous aspect as well. All of which is part of the ongoing war against God which is costing this country alone much in lives, souls and money. REVEALING STATISTICS (or, Present Costs of the War Against God)

And here is a poem that i prayed would make people think:

Freedom not Sodom!

There's freedom in America, the land of the red white and blue;

but there still must be laws, things you just can't do.

You can't marry your sister, your brother, or the family pet;

a sheep, or a goat - at least not yet!

That how is it with homosexuality, what the Bible calls sodomy;

men lying with men as with women, is perversity!

That they're not designed that way, tis easy to perceive,

but yielding to sinful desires, man is soon deceived.

A moral wrong is not a civil right; like the sin itself, that's confusion;

calling evil good and exchanging light for darkness, is sure delusion!

History tells us where this will lead, from societies now in dust,

When a nation casts off the laws of God, and follows it's own lusts.

Promoting a sin which sends one to Hell from an early grave,

dishonors God and robs man of the Life He gave.

There's but one answer: the Risen Jesus gave Himself for our sins;

Repent and believe, then truly follow Him!

You may have missed it, but some of these religious threads are truly disgraceful.

Examples please....

However, religion is often related with conservatism.

Really?

Muslims are religious. I wouldn't call them Conservative in the way I think you meant.

Many Jews, and Catholics are full on liberals.

Fact is...quite a few mormons, and Christians are liberals too.

So....what exactly did you mean by your comment?
