You wrote, “so we could return home someday.” What do you mean by that? What does Mormonism teach on it? Do Mormons believe that they’ve been there already?

Resty, God bless you. I’ve read many of your posts over the years and I think you really do have a heart for Jesus Christ. I believe you when you say that you do. You seem to know Scripture pretty well and seem to put your heart and soul into your beliefs.

I have to ask you, have you ever considered that your belief system could be wrong? That maybe the path you're on is the wrong way? I ask because I really do believe you when you say that you believe in Jesus, and anyone who is truly trying to find Him deserves the help of a Christian.

Please think on this and give the best answer you can: How do you reconcile, or bring together, the teachings of a man (Smith) that are in direct opposition to the teachings of The One you are seeking to save you? How can Jesus save your soul when you are trusting in man-made doctrine to save you?

Jesus did not need a man (Smith) to make another religion to get your soul to HIM. Do you believe that is so? Jesus did what we (all of us, including Smith) could not do for ourselves, Resty. HE made the way; not some man who wrote another book to supplant the teachings of Christ by telling YOU, RESTY, “Here. My way is better than God’s.” God had already provided The Way and did not need Smith to do that, did He? But in order to take souls from God, Satan did need him to do it.

Sometimes people get stumped trying to make something so simple into something very difficult. Jesus made the way simple, and it’s our faith in believing that His work is sufficient that ultimately matters. HE is the way, and there’s none besides. In the end, the question will be whether you believed in Jesus or in Smith.

You can’t see what others so plainly see, Resty, and you can blame Mormonism for that. Satan has tricked you and gotten you to take the bait. Throw it far from you and put your soul in the hands of Jesus Christ ALONE. There is no other way. There is no other, newer, better doctrine than that of Jesus Christ. And there will never be.

You have to ask yourself what you will answer on Judgment Day to Jesus when He asks you in whom you trusted. When you say that you put your faith and eternal security in Joseph Smith - a man who went against Jesus’ teachings - what do you think His response is going to be? It’s not easy to say, but I would reckon it to be some very familiar and frightening words to those who read their Bible: “I never knew you...”

Do NOT let that happen to you.

I really do wish you best, Resty, and I pray that God put people in your life to help you find your way out of the soul-damning fog that false teaching has put you in.

Best,

SC

I belive in the restoration that Jesus Christ did restore his Church on earth in the Latter Days.....

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.”

I know it is hard for some to understand sense they have been/are steeped in the views of how the world works.

Nothing on earth today is as well organized http://lds.org/?lang=eng as “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.”

This is a must read they are all build on Judeo-Christian laws from the the LDS standard works (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doc&Cov POGP).

Many can scoff at the mighty find works but I thank Heavenly Father and the Son Lord Jesus Christ I could recevie this sweet gift.

Skousen spent 15-20 hours a week reading the scriptures even if you are not LDS there are treasure of knowledge those os all faith.

and might I add http://nccs.net/

These are good things that is always getting dismissed because of many personal bias.

Thank you for your concern

So there is no misunderstanding when it is said we are the choice people to saved in these latter days that mean all God Children of fatihs in him not just LDS.

This be understood if one were to study the works and made clearer.

Sadly many negative to LDS take that as opportunity to spin it out of context.

Thanks for your response, Resty. It’s much appreciated.

If I understand you correctly, you are putting firmly into place the doctrine of the LDS rather than just the Word of God.

My belief is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is the only One who can save me. I believe that His words are true and that He is the only way in which we will enter the Kingdom, if at all. That there is no other way, no other things to be done to gain entry, other than placing our faith firmly in HIM and living our lives in accordance with His words and His will. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you admit those things, also; that they are a given. I’m open for discussion so please correct me when I go astray in assuming what you believe. Your conviction is easily seen, and one would be hard-pressed to find fault in your seeking Jesus Christ.

But let’s discuss this and humor one another a moment, ok? After all, that’s what we are here for.

My belief is, to say it bluntly and quickly, JUST Jesus. That’s it. That there is no other person, place nor thing that will get me entry into Heaven. No more or less than what He said. Do you agree or disagree?

Next, we have your belief which is Jesus plus the works of Joseph Smith. Is that correct?

Can you tell me where in the Bible Jesus stated that there would be something more? Something in addition to His work on the cross?

Your answers are respectfully considered and appreciated, Resty.

While waiting for you, I will take a look at the links you posted.

Best,

SC

Video: Elder Oaks talks about the Second Coming

A living apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ speaks about the second coming and what has been revealed to us in our day from the scriptures. Elder Dallin H. Oaks is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Hey, Gal. It’s hot as heck here in Mississippi, so please forgive my brain for being a bit mushy and if my questions aren’t easily understood. If you don’t understand either one, just let me know and I will try to make them make more sense. Having thought about it a minute and looking back at our posts, I think it would be easier if I put the questions in bold type to make it easier and so that they’re not lost/overlooked in the process.

I watched at the link you posted, “A Book with a Promise”. The speaker said that one must pray about the BOM and that he or she would be told that it is true. There was no Yes-No-Maybe. Just “Yes”. I don’t quite understand why one would have to pray to see if the book they’re placing their eternal security in is true. So, can you tell me if Mormons are also taught to pray about the Holy Bible to see if it is real? Also, is the Bible secondary to the BOM in your religion?

Thanks for any answers that are applicable to the questions, Resty.

Best,

SC

To: restornu; more

More: Keep in mind that Mormon Restornu said what she said only two days after referencing us as "Babylon."

Resty sounds very ecumenical-minded; but she's not really representing very well what her Mormon leaders have said about us Christians.

This be understood if one were to study the works and made clearer.

Well, Resty wants you to "study the [Mormon] works" so that it will be "made clearer."

Here, just go to my response to Resty about what Mormon leaders have said about "Babylon" Christians and study that; it'll be made quite what Mormonism's views are about us:
