The Bible said that homosexuality is an abomination. Just because some priests prey on young girls and/or boys does not make it right.
Oh Lord! We are praying
Schism seems inevitable.
I figured all along the real issue was not couples who had previous marriages and were divorced. I imagined at first they would try to make it about compassion for previously married straight couples. As soon as the Church waffled on that it would be 100% about gay this, gay that, gay everything, including gay priests and “marrying” gay couples.
There is clearly a faction, of uncertain size, among the Latin Church clergy which is desperate to come out and openly declare their homosexuality and to declare that it is good.
It is interesting that this has not emerged as an issue in Orthodoxy.
My own view is that the number of heterosexual men called to celibacy is insufficient to sustain a celibate-only clergy. In Orthodoxy, pastors can be selected from among married men, and the number of bishops, being much smaller, can be achieved from among the much smaller group of those gifted with celibacy.
After all “Amoris Laetitia” means “Gay Love” in latin...
I’ve been watching this creeping, perverse element grow and push itself on the laity for 40 years. I am finally becoming enraged at this brutal misuse of people’s loving natures.
“Is there not so much positive and good and right so that we have to be more just?
No! Just the opposite, this illness destroys lives, including those who have the sickness. There is no benefit to anyone, religious or otherwise. It’s an insidious disease that progresses like a parasite in the victim and then onto others.
Leviticus 18:22.
Please pray for the conversion of pope Francis.
I could see that.
Though I personally suspect that the real motive is to attract divorced and civilly remarried Catholics back to the collection basket.
As it stands most don’t wish to go through the hassle and humiliation of an annulment. So they leave and join another church. Usually a large Evangelical church, where they TITHE!!
This, I am certain, is driving the Vatican nuts.
