New 'inclusive' catechesis directory favors 'dialogue' to 'evangelism'

VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Vatican's new Directory for Catechesis is emphasizing "ecumenism and interreligious dialogue with Judaism and Islam" as "a special area for catechesis."

The updated directory, published Thursday by the Vatican, urges Catholics "to avoid superficial generalizations in order to foster dialogue with Islam."

Instead of evangelizing Jews, it calls for "a dialogue that combats anti-Semitism and promotes peace and justice with Judaism."

Evangelization Redefined

"In our contemporary context of religious pluralism," "witnessing" through "friendly and cordial dialogue" is privileged over an explicit proclamation of the gospel.

At a Vatican press conference Thursday, Abp. Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, nevertheless insisted that "evangelization occupies the primary place in the life of the Church and in the everyday teaching of Pope Francis. It could not be otherwise."

"Catechesis, therefore, must be united intimately with the work of evangelization and cannot be separated from it," Fisichella said.

But instead of emphasizing the urgency for the conversion of nonbelievers, the directory underscores Pope Francis' call to "a profound ecological conversion."

Absolutely shun some stereotypes of Islam, chiefly the pervasive stereotype that it is a "religion of peace". It's not. It's always been a religion of war, subjugation, and slavery.

Muslims who themselves come to recognize this can follow one of three paths, ignore it and go through the motions for the sake of family and making a living in the West, become an apostate in some form, Atheist, Christian, something, or embrace it as the actual will of God. Far too many of the first group morph into the third without anyone noticing until there's random and innocent blood on the streets.

By refusing to question and expound on the profound differences with the claims made by Islam and its followers Reaching out to and defend what Judeo/Christian beliefs are.Or challenge claims that Islamist make they are following God’s command using deceit and deception when ruthlessly murdering and torturing non believers and destroy their edifice .Smply because of its assertion of being monotheistic. Then winds up making a point of honoring it and placing it on an equal level because of that claim. Is leading to misguided conversions which is the result of my so called Pope playing games with this so called mono theistic cult and is creating a serious fracture within Christianity and The Roman Rite .
