Have the Jewish End Times Begun?
BIN ^ | 7/1/2020 | Dan Sofer

The End Times, for many Christians, brings to mind the Rapture, Tribulation, the Second Coming, and Judgement Day. But what do Jewish traditions teach about the End Times? And are those traditions coming true before our eyes?

Jewish beliefs about the End Times are based on the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament, especially the books of Ezekiel, Isaiah, Daniel, and Malachi) as well as later rabbinic sources in the Talmud and Midrash.

These traditions discuss key events that include:

– The Resurrection of the Dead – The Ingathering of the Exiles (including the “Ten Lost Tribes of Israel”) – The building of a Third Temple in Jerusalem – The reign of the Messiah-King descended from King David The relationship between these events and their timing are unclear, but a number of other factors will play a role.

Elijah the Prophet, the “harbinger of the Messiah,” is to return to anoint the Messiah. The period immediately preceding the Messiah’s return will be a time of great uncertainty and suffering. These “birth pangs of the Messiah” will include social upheavals. A great war will rage between mighty nations as described by Ezekiel in his prophecy of Gog and Magog. (Ezekiel 38) The end result will be a period of world peace (“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb…”—Isaiah 11:6) and, perhaps, eternal life.

👍 Lots of love to you and yours Phinneous. Numbers 6:24-26 24 The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.

Then why did Christ declare ‘time’ was shortened, for the elects sake? Christ was most definitely aware of the days of Daniel, Christ quoted Daniel.

Here’s the parable of the wheat and the tares (both harvested AT THE SAME TIME):

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares
24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

Here’s another: If the dead in Christ are already with him how is it that there’s a loud voice and the trumpet of God (which we will all see and hear) and THEN they rise?

1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

1 Cor 51 Behold, I tell you a [m]mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Acts 3 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send [c]Jesus Christ, who was [d]preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things,

“Well Jesus just left there”

“The man says, “Get out of here
I’ll tear you limb from limb”
I said, “You know they refused Jesus, too”
He said, “You’re not Him“

(We are going to get so hammered on this thread...and we so deserve it)

At then rapture. It’s the dead ion Christ rising not all humanity. This iChrist coming for His Cbirch prior time the tribulation. I get it you are not a pretribber. That’s fine but 4 posts? You will not convince me and I will not convince you so let’s agree to disagree. We will all know soon enough

you don’t think we’re in troubled (tribulation) times now? It sure seems people that believe they will secretly disappear are scared to live through difficult times because they don’t believe God will be there for them.

I am not afraid of anything. My study of scripture convinced me of a pretrib rapture. No matter what happens nothing can separate me from Christ. I find the pretrib raoture most consistent with Scripture as a whole you obviously do not. Either way we will not have long to wait to find out whose view is the correct one

“Thats not what Rev 12 says.”

Yes, it does:

“3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth...” Rev. 12:3-4

“The only thing that was missing (that we know of) astronomically...”

Astrologically. There is no astronomical significance to shapes you want to draw between the stars and then use to try and predict the future. That’s astrology. Here’s what God says about looking to astrology:

“13 ...Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.” Isaiah 47:13-14

“You are thinking of Astrology and signs of the Zodiac which is an abberation of what God intended.”

Well, that’s what you are engaging in. You are drawing shapes in the stars and using them to try to predict the future. Pretending that those shapes line up with something in a prophecy does not remove God’s prohibition against what you are doing, nor will it serve to make your efforts ever be anything but completely fruitless. If God had wanted us to interpret prophecy in light of the stars, it is a certainty that He would have instructed us about how to do that, at least once, rather than condemn the practice in no uncertain terms.

“Don’t confuse the 2. God put them there for signs, Satan distracted us from it by selling the zodiac.”

I’m the one who has been confused? When God condemns a practice quite clearly and someone is trying to wriggle out of that and make some exception as to why they can do it anyway, that is the person who has been confused and needs to watch out for Satan.

“I believe that the alignment which took place on that date is accurately described in Revelation chapter 12.”

Except it didn’t happen. You already admitted there was no “dragon” and of course, one third of the stars didn’t fall out of the sky, Jesus Christ wasn’t born, etc. Even if I thought applying your methodology was not improper, the application of it would still fail spectacularly here, since a cursory glance at the text reveals that it contains dozens of “signs” which did not happen.

“Feel free to give us your all knowing interpretation of what it does mean...”

Well, I already gave you some hints on how to properly interpret it. First, you should follow the general principle of letting the Bible interpret itself. Look for the symbols of the sun, moon, and stars in another significant prophecy which the Bible already has told us the meaning of. Then you will know the meaning of the symbols when they are used in this prophecy. From there, the rest of the meaning of the prophecy falls into place quite easily. I’m not going to do your homework for you, though.

Yes, I’ve been pondering the latter, myself. Especially recently (last few years).

I was reading Deuteronomy about the punishments for Israel’s disobedience, where a failure to repent would increase the judgment 7 fold. First time was 70 years. Second time was 490 years.

I got curious where 7 times 490 would end up if it began at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. I calculated it to 1967, when Jerusalem was recaptured.

[I got curious where 7 times 490 would end up if it began at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. I calculated it to 1967, when Jerusalem was recaptured.]

I’m not sure I understand that last part. I may not be reading it the way I’m supposed to.

That being said, yes 1948 was very significant. I too, consider 1967 even more so.

Somewhere around late last year, I began to mention, in various ways, I had a feeling 2020 was going to be “a year”.

For exactly what, I do not know. But it has already been jaw-dropping in many ways.

I DID share, privately, THIS year (some above may remember a private message from me) something that I considered a possibility. There were two scenarios (I will say that much without going into detail; not comfortable with the detail other than what I told them, or most of them).

ANYWAYS, based on my considerations, things would have to start falling apart =====> 2020.

The other scenario would have things starting to fall apart 10 years later. Given the rapid changes we’ve seen, I can’t imagine what the next 10 years would look like.

BUT no one can set a date or should set a date. I will only say we appear to be in the season (duh) of times that our Lord spoke of.

As FES044 says, keep looking up! Keep praying as well!
