Spirit-Filled Intercessor: Why God Will Deliver Us From This 'Coup' Attempt
Charisma News ^ | 12/11/20 | Karen Hardin

Posted on 12/12/2020 8:37:14 AM PST by spacejunkie2001

I received a letter from a ministry partner last week who felt it was important that I accept the election as finished and Joe Biden as the next president.

"My husband and I have prayed and feel at peace with the result. I believe it is proof of God's judgment over Donald Trump," she explained.

My concern is that her comment is grounded in what is seen with the natural eye, not taking into account who God is, what He requires and what He has done in the past.

Proverbs 25:26 (ESV) says, "Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked."

Am I calling Biden wicked? To be clear, I am calling what the Democrat platform and what Joe Biden says he supports as wicked. (If you disagree with that statement, that's an entirely different conversation.)

Like many, I have continued to pray for a word and insight into what we see happening. There is no doubt that tension and division are mounting. But this isn't just about what we see; it's also about what we don't see.

"So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Cor. 4:18, NIV).

We need to look at what God has done in the past. Although He never seems to show up when or how we think He will, He always shows up.

Several times over the last two weeks, He has spoken to me of Gideon (Judg. 6-8) and why we are in a similar moment. What we see right now is a sifting and shifting, not only in government but also in the church.

We are changing from one season into another, leading to what I believe will be a massive revival across the globe as deliverance comes to our nation through "commoners." Who are the commoners? They are those who, even now, are in the trenches, working behind the scenes in whatever capacity they are able. Lawyers, researchers, intercessors, writers, and so on. Unknown names to the world but known to God. It's not the first time He has used such an army. Look around. These heroes are everywhere.

To see what God is doing in the present, we need to remember what He has done in the past. He never changes. God will not be mocked. He is and has always been in control. "He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord ridicules them" (Ps. 2:4, MEV).

Those plotting to remove God from our land are in for a rude awakening. How do I know that? Let's look at what He did in the days of Gideon as the Midianites harassed and tried to enslave God's people.

"The hands of Midian dominated Israel" (Judg. 6:2a). The name "Midian" means "division and strife." Coincidence? "For they came with their livestock and tents like a swarm of locusts. They and their camels were too numerous to count, and they came into the land to destroy it. Israel was made weak before Midian and cried out to the Lord" (Judg. 6:5-6).

Present Day

And the power of division and strife intent on takeover seemed to prevail against America and the world. They were like a great swarm of locusts. They appeared innumerable and entered the land to ravage it (under the pretext of "saving" it). And Americans cried out to the Lord.

God tapped Gideon (his name means "hacker") to lead. He was an unlikely choice. If you read the story, you will remember that Gideon was timidly threshing out wheat in a winepress. He was hiding in fear. The angel of the Lord appeared and called him a mighty warrior. He didn't look so mighty to me. Thank God that He sees us for who we can be and what He placed within us, rather than who we are in this moment.

Why had the Midianites been able to gain such strength? Judges 6:10b tells the story, "you have disobeyed Me." It is no different for America. Sin has abounded in our land along with pride. But just as Israel repented, so there has been repentance and humbling in our land before God. Why is that important? Because that is the key to strength.

Gideon

"Then Gideon said to him, 'O my lord, if the Lord is with us, then why has all this happened to us? Where are all His miracles that our fathers told us about? They said, "Did not the Lord bring us out of Egypt?" (Judg. 6:13a).

The Lord

"Then the Lord turned to him and said, 'Go in this strength of yours. Save Israel from the control of Midian [strife and division]. Have I not sent you?'" (Judg. 6:14, emphasis mine).

What was Gideon's strength to which the Lord referred? It was humility.

For months we have been reminded of the key to our deliverance in this hour, "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chron. 7:14).

I realize that the church is not fully awake. I realize that not everyone has humbled themselves—but a remnant has.

Jonathan Cahn's "The Return," Franklin Graham's Prayer March 2020, Sean Feucht's "Let Us Worship" events. We have seen over a million believers who have come together to cry out to God just through these events. They represent even greater numbers of those unseen but just as effectively interceding. And God will respond because He must in order to be true to Himself. This repentance and humility is now our place of strength.

How else do we know that God will deliver us from this coup attempt in process? Not only because we have humbled ourselves and cried out to Him, but because we have started to tear down the idols of Baal.

In the days of Gideon, that was his first assignment. He was to go and tear down the idols on the high places. Although he was too afraid to do it by day, Gideon took some friends and did it at night. He began to dismantle the works of evil. We need to remember that God honors those who honor His commandments: "You shall have no other gods before Me" (Exod. 20:3).

Like him or not, President Trump has systematically been dismantling the idols of Baal erected in America. For the last four years he has torn down and reversed ungodly mandates from previous administrations, chopping away at the laws that protect the idols of pro-abortion, LGBTQ perversion, pedophilia, religious persecution and more. It has been in alignment with God's purposes. Will He suddenly allow it all to come back? Is His arm too short to save? Of course not.

Gideon was afraid as many are right now. Even after he started to take leadership and pull together an army, we learn they, too, were afraid. But God didn't need a great number; He just needed a remnant. In fact, He only wanted a small number so that man could not claim the glory for the victory that was about to occur at His hands.

"The Lord said to Gideon, 'You have too many people with you for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel glorify themselves over Me, saying, "Our own power saved us." So now, call out so the people can hear, "Whoever is afraid or anxious may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.'" So twenty-two thousand from among the people turned back, and ten thousand were left" (Judg. 7:2-3).

Over two-thirds were afraid and left. It sounds like where we are at in our nation right now as fear has caused many to capitulate just wanting this to be over and things to get back to "normal."

But the Lord said to Gideon, "There are still too many people. Bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. When I say to you, 'This one will go with you,' he will go with you. Everyone about whom I will say, 'This one will not go with you,' will not go."

So he brought the people down to the water, and the Lord said to Gideon, "You shall set apart by himself everyone who laps the water with his tongue like dogs; likewise, everyone who kneels down to drink." The number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was three hundred. The rest of the people had knelt to drink water (Judg. 7:4-6).

Those who brought the water up to their mouths to drink were the ones alert and watchful. They were the ones chosen for the task of defeating the innumerable Midianite army. Just 300 men against an army too numerous to count. Crazy, right? We need to remember that God likes to do it that way.

"That night the Lord said to him, 'Get up and go down into the camp, for I have given it into your hands. Yet if you are afraid to go down, then go down to the camp with Purah [fruitful] your servant. Listen to what they say" (Judg. 7:9-11a).

I believe the Lord wants to encourage us to listen to what they are saying. The continued insistence by the media reveals its fear of defeat. In the story of Gideon, a soldier in the opposing army had a dream of a barley loaf tumbling down the hill and crashing into the enemy's camp. Barley was the commoner's food. It represented that deliverance was coming through "commoners." I believe that is what we are seeing right now as well.

As we stand now at the top of the hill waiting for what we sense is coming, perhaps you feel like Gideon—afraid. It's OK. Listen to what the opposing camp is saying. I will tweak a line from Hamlet: "Methinks they protest too much." Their continued and desperate insistence of Biden's win and refusal to admit the overwhelming evidence of fraud which has been uncovered speaks volumes.

God understands that many are afraid—afraid of the future and what will happen in our nation as this conflict is resolved.

It's okay. He is in control. As the angel said to Mary long ago, "Fear not."

Rest assured, deliverance is coming and even now is tumbling down the hill. It is our job to stand fast, immovable as we continue to pray. May we be part of the remnant who are constantly alert, watching as He once again delivers His people in a way in which only He will get the glory, and America will return fully to Him.

[[ Biden/Harris be Gods judgement? Why do we blindly believe God will just forget about what has been allowed to go on in America]]

Because we naturally feel that we are special. We feel God has chosen us and will always give us the desires of our hearts because He favors us because we are an “exceptioal nation”. We think He will always overlook our “small indescretions”, and we simply don’t take sin seriously anymore because “nothing greatly terrible has happened in our generation to this nation really”.

We aren’t special, and He wont overlook our sins as a nation. Not many like to hear that because we prefer to think that God has taken a shine to us because we are an exceptional nation. But that is t he truth. Were not special, and God doesn’t wink at our sins

To see what God is doing in the present, we need to remember what He has done in the past. He never changes.

So how does the author explain Hitler's takeover of Germany?
How does the author explain the fall of Christian North Korea to Communism?
How does the author explain Maduro's theft to power?
Is the US so special that it's exempt from the rise of evil.

I pray for God to resurrect Trump to power in 2021, but there is no basis to 'expect' it.

“We can’t explain to God why we allow baby killers and sodomites to lead our country. If we won’t repent on our own, He will bring us to our knees one way or another.”

AMEN!

I totally agree with you. Good summation. We know the story of Gideon gives us courage (at least to me) that a small amount (a remnant) of God’s elect, can bring about God’s will, which IS good, even when we’re not. We are called to repent and need to but there’s a scripture that says ‘does not God’s goodness lead to repentance?’ Chicken meet egg :)

There is a coup going on to take over this great nation. Trump just happens to be the president. Would I like to see Trump reelected? Yes. But ultimately, this article is about GOD, not Trump, and it’s about stopping a coup against this great nation (not necessarily the president). I do believe God is the foundation of this country and desires to remain so. We have lost our way but so have millions and millions (billions) over the centuries and a remnant stepped in, many a time, and turned things around.

So Biden's election is a judgment on the USA, and will result in ever worsening conditions.

That's been my contention all along.

If Harris/Biden get in, it won't be a matter of wondering if God is going to judge the US.

They ARE God's judgment on the US.

sadly, there are alot of VERY weak Christians. Even as evidenced in the story of Gideon, 2/3’s of the potential warriors left because they were scared and weak!

With all of this “news” coming out about Barr not telling us about the fraud that the Bidens are, I think it gives the ELECTORS good cause not to name Biden as the winner of the election.

My God, all this exposure to the truth about the man, surely no one in their right mind would give him the PRESIDENCY.

AND THE ELECTORS WOULD HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO THE CORRECT THING.

Exactly! Imagine the doomed Christians throughout the ages that prayed they be saved from their evil doers, and were not.

I never understood people willingly going to the slaughter, such as the Holocaust Jews allowing themselves to be herded up, packed in cattle cars and marched into gas chambers.

By the same token I do not understand FReepers here willing to throw in the towel and just move on because they think it’s over. I’d just hate like hell to be in a war zone with any such people.

I am simply pointing out what is scripture. These people are part of the false 7 mountains mandate - dominion theology. Scripture is clear. "The Return" was false. Why? Because not once is revival ever done like this in scripture. NEVER. Christians cannot repent for things they do not do. They repent for their own sins. The sins of the church. I cannot repent of the sins of abortion or homosexuality...and it is futile from God's perspective to repent for people who do not want to repent.

We need to repent of AS a church - are found in Revelation 2&3 - and part of that is the false teaching and heresy that lead us to this place to begin with.

The Return never addressed any of that.

Second - true national revival ALWAYS (in scripture) begins with leaders of the land - repenting. Leaders do not repent by taking the Lord's name in vain. And anyone can say the Lord's name (See Matthew 7:21). No. TRUE repentance for the land would be President DJT confessing Christ as the only savior - and that would first be manifested by telling his daughter and his son-in-law that they need Jesus and Jesus along as savior.

The Return should have had that ring to it.

Read Revelation 2&3 and see what Jesus tells the churches (5 churches) to repent of - and that is what "The Return" should have done: Repented of leaving its first love, for loving the world, for embracing heretics, for allowing "Jezebels" to teach-etc.

YET - Franklin Graham shared the stage WITH a Jezebel - Paula White - who teaches Jesus was not the ONLY begotten son of God - just the first. Heresy. And she is Trump's spiritual advisor. Graham should have never EVER shared a microphone with her

True revival comes when leaders REPENT and lead the nation into repentance.

When Trump does that - his fruit will show it. Right now - he is literally no different than he was in 1980. If he repents of supporting homosexual marriage and LGBT rights - let me know - and then maybe we will move in the right direction. Until then - this has to be left for the church to preach the Gospel.

And THAT is scripture.

What is the Return? sorry, I’m not following on that. And when you say “these people”, who are you referring to?

you absolutely can and should repent as a Christian if you weren’t gay or had an abortion, if you ever voted for someone who was or did or didn’t witness the truth to people that did, etc.

Trump DOES confess Christ as our Savior; I’m grateful for that. You’re saying he’s only saved and telling us the truth if he tells his daughter and son in law? First, how do you know he hasn’t, 2nd, you put an awfully tall order on anyone living a believer’s life that there’s all kinds of work they need to do before they’re saved.

First - the return was the event mentioned in the article.

Second - I said "repent" in relation to the return - because that is what "The Return 2020" was all about - repenting of national sin - the article mentions it. But to fill you in - the event was the march on DC where Christians repented for the sins of the nation. However - that is not how it works today in the church age. The church - as Jesus points out in Rev 2&3 - has to repent for ITS sins. The Return never touched on that - for obvious reasons - because many of these false teachers were there.

Third - I've seen pictures where he is in a prayer circle (and these are recent) with them - led by the false teacher Paula White. I am simply saying true salvation is the understanding that salvation is through Christ alone. There are MANY who confess Christ as "A" savior. Ask an Episcopalian. In fact - look at the Catholic Catechism #841: "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

That is not salvation. Acknowledging OTHER paths is not faith in salvation alone.

Now - I do NOT know if he has faith in Christ alone and has denounced all other paths - which - BTW - is orthodox Christianity - and is the faith upon which the martyrs died. However - I do know that if the Holy Spirit is inside of a person - it should bear witness of the sin of homosexuality and not affirm it as Melania recently said he did.

I do think this too: If he was truly born again - I do believe the dozens of New Age leaders - who believe he is a lightworker (who are certainly listening to their father the devil) would hate him - not love him.

But they love him. They think he is going to bring in the age of Aquarius.

I spent 32 years in the military watching the enemy and seeing their plans. It makes me nervous when they like my guy (and again - we - the entire family - voted for Trump - we voted for the (R) platform). I'm just not a big fan.

When we tweeted out Wayne Allen Roots tweet and thanked him for it - because the Jews think of him as the "second coming of God" - and he thought that was great - it made me very upset. A spirit filled man would have shuddered at that.

Imagine what you would do if I had said such a think about you - the Spirit inside you would slam breaks so fast it would break the wheel.

aren’t you adding alot of assumptions to what they said or what they meant?? I don’t even know what the ‘return of 2020’ is. As for America returning to God; we should. We were once there and it is my prayer we DO repent and turn back to the Father.

As a nation, even believers, we are called to continually repent, to turn from our wicked ways. Look at what Abraham asked the Lord about Sodom and Gomorrah; would He spare the cities if just 5 were righteous. In other words, other people could spare life for those that sin.

I’ll just say this, neither YOU or I really know someone’s heart and if we approach every person that confesses Jesus Christ with cynicism and doubt in our hearts that they are genuine, we will never be content. Remember the scriptures (sorry can’t say where although you might know) where men come to Paul and say others are using the name of Jesus Christ. They thought Paul would be ticked and want them to stop. On the contrary, Paul said let them say it! The more that mention the name of Jesus the better.
