There is a ‘Indian Temple Mound’ right here in our downtown Ft. Walton Beach, (It’s really just a big pile of dirt with trees on it). It has a recreated structure on it that is supposed to represent the original from a thousand years ago.

We used to be able to walk upon it, there are concrete sidewalks on it, and enjoy the view and the cool shade on a hot summer day.

But NOT ANY MORE!

Some Indians, er, uh, I mean, NATIVE Americans, uh, Indigenous People, oops, First Peoples, COMPLAINED that it was a ‘holy site’ and white people were desecrating it by walking around on it.

So it is now chained off and no one is allowed to walk on it at all EXCEPT these so-called Native Americans.....................

Yeah, it’s such an attraction that I never bothered to go see it. I’ll drive to Pensacola and see the free National Naval Aviation Museum and eat at Peg Leg Petes and then drive back to Okaloosa Island past the “Indian Temple Mound” without slowing down.
