Even the name is inaccurate. What the proper term should be is "political suppression of any idea or thought that is not liberal/Marxist/anti-American."
Correctness has nothing to do with it.

By the way, Marcuse is also the man who creates the phrase, "Make love, not war."

Yes, an excellent analysis. I lived through a good bit of the process, especially Marcuse.

Cultural Marxism is a culture of suspicion and resentment, which goes far to explain why these folks are angry all the time. Suspicion, resentment, and devotion to destruction are not good for your mental health.

From the Counterculture this came back into the universities and took them over, then from the universities into politics, where almost the entire Democrat party was taken over. Even the cultural establishment has now signed on, so if you visited a yacht club or a country club in the rich coastal states last fall you would have seen nothing but Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.

That's because cultural marxism not only criticizes power, it seizes power, and these cultural elites all know which side their bread is buttered on. They are almost a an American Nomenklatura.

You know, as a smart observer of the liberal left, I have developed several rules and theories to help me DETECT the hidden agenda. The liberal left never tell the STUPID American public who they are, and who is behind the leftist agenda, and their long term goals. They call their organizations a very good neutral patriotic names, and hence, the STUPID American public never suspects their dirty hands. One story I was reading yesterday, came in to illustrate and proof my theory. The Newsweek end of the year summery of "transition" famous people who died during the past year. It lists a French guy by the name of Jacques Derrira as among the most famous people who died. Immediately an alarm rings in my head. Well well, I thought we don't like France, and or stupid Joe-six pack don't even know Jacques from jack! Them I went on Google trying to find who the heck is this dude, from our enemy country called France, that manged cross over to our beloved mourned list? As it turned out, my instinct was correct. You know, the list of all, and everything that appears in the leftist media, IS a list of what LEFTISTS LIKE, not what the majority of the American people like. Again, Jacques turned out to be a LEFTIST DECONSTRUCTIONIST!

Barbra Streisand's last hit song was several decades ago, but her name is still fresh in young, and old Americans, not because she is famous, or her hit songs are any better than say "CASEY AND THE SUN SHINE BAND" just to name one, It is the constant liberal media mentioning her name, that keeps her current. To the extent that her appearance in the new movie, the "Meet the Folkers" was built as a big deal despite of the fact that it is a lousy movie, and will fail in the box office, just mark my words.

The way I see it, they have got the microphone, and they will reach more people then a lonely voice like yours or mine. Merry Christmas

In Fromm’s view, masculinity and femininity were not reflections of ‘essential’ sexual differences, as the Romantics had thought. They were derived instead from differences in life functions, which were in part socially determined." Sex is a construct; sexual differences are a construct.

Why is it that to Marxists everything is a social construct except the central Marxist thesis that "oppression" and "exploitation" are wrong?

In conclusion, America today is in the throws of the greatest and direst transformation in its history. We are becoming an ideological state, a country with an official state ideology enforced by the power of the state. In "hate crimes" we now have people serving jail sentences for political thoughts. And the Congress is now moving to expand that category ever further. Affirmative action is part of it. The terror against anyone who dissents from Political Correctness on campus is part of it. It’s exactly what we have seen happen in Russia, in Germany, in Italy, in China, and now it’s coming here. And we don’t recognize it because we call it Political Correctness and laugh it off. My message today is that it’s not funny, it’s here, it’s growing and it will eventually destroy, as it seeks to destroy, everything that we have ever defined as our freedom and our culture.

An important point, however, is that American politcally correct totalitarianism includes a necessity for guilt and self-hatred. This is something that the totalitarianism of Third World countries do not know (instead, they espouse a form of totalitarianism patriotism and national pride).

And when they are upfront about their agenda, at least partially, they go to the Courts to have it imposed rather than be defeated democratically.

But they have also gone into the Federal Acquisition Regulations and impose annual re-indoctrination of these PC programs on companies that do business with the federal government. Much more intrusive than court victories, now you must behave this way or lose your job. (BTW, did you hear about the blond who was at the ventriloquist show?)

PCD is the supression of other ideas without the use of logic. It's intellect-via-emotion.

Well put. The counterculture has morphed into the establishment in my lifetime. The red states have become the snake handlers of the new order.

Every informed Freeper should become acquainted with the FRANKFURT SCHOOL and the mischief it has done.

Yes, and its a shame that these smaller issues don't get more attention, and that corporate America has rolled over so easily for the Left.
